After writing the review below, I found two additional latches that someone whom I won’t name, did not tnink were necessary. They were! Door problem solved!!! Five stars and I may buy the bigger one if the grow bigger than we think they will!!! Looks great, solid construction, big enough for two 45 lb. dogs (who are very bonded and sleep on top of each other, but still there is room for them both), went together easily and everything lined up first try. HOWEVER...a few things to know - it weights about 75 pounds assembled, and you DEFINITELY need 2 people to do it (we had three). While you could do it sitting on the floor (if you are young enough to get back up off the floor, which we are not!), we cut off the top of the box, laid in on the bed, and assembled it there which also worked well. Took two adults to lift it down when done. Slides well on included feet. Strongly suggest that you use some twine or long twist ties on the doors before assembly or else they will be banging in the head every 2 minutes. And know which door you want to use, and which end and way you want it to open. Now the bad news...while the dogs went in no problems, rearranged the bedding to suit and settle right down, and 4:15 in the morning we were woke by excited puppy kisses and deadly tail beating and they settle down between us on the bed. We realized when we put it together that the slide locks did not hold the doors tightly to the face of the kennel, but we tugged on them and they did not open or release the doors so they appeared secure. It appears though that all those treat puzzles we give them taught them more than we thought! So great crate, nice looking furniture piece, but we will be modifying the latch today!

Seriously Better than 5 Stars! This is an extremely well made, solid crate that is easy to look at and works beautifully. The assembly instructions are well written and simple to follow. I took extra precautions as I was doing the set up alone, but it still went together in under an hour. "Murphy" and I work well together! This crate exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend it. Since I'll be putting a puppy in it, I ordered silicone pee pad holders and lined the floor with them. I know it says water resistant, but this is urine we're talking about and I wanted to make sure. Besides, it gives a non-slippery surface for the pup. I love that the front completely opens and that the side does as well. I bought the 38.3 x 25 inch and it will work as my guy's "man cave" when he grows up. Super product! Buy with confidence.

Update several months later: These have held up to 50+ different large-breed, high energy dogs! Zero issues. Awesome. The dogs love to hang out or nap in these during the day - my dogs take naps in these any chance they get. So comfy and den-like to them. I keep my plants on the top and water has accidentally sat on them for a day or two. Zero damage since the wood is so well sealed. So worth the money. I'm a petsitter with lots of large, high energy clients who sleep in crates overnight, so bought two of these to free myself from the ugly and flimsy wire crates. They're cute, very well built, and assembly took about 30mins each with the help of my partner. The wood portions are gorgeous and seem non-porous(good for if a dog has an accident or water spills) and the metal portions are SOLID and look to be powder-coated. They are heavy enough that I can put stuff on top and still be confident that the crates won't be moving around if a dog is. I custom built and painted a backing for each crate to protect the back of our couch. Love love LOVE

Purchased to replace a wire crate after realizing the crate would be a permanent home fixture for my new pup. He also figured out how to open the wire one from inside. This one is much sturdier, it's cute, and now I can store treats on top. Pretty sure no dog could open the latch from within on this one. Love the customization of door placements, super easy to put together. Medium was the perfect size to fit a dog bed cushion I already had. The top wood-look piece holds my only issues. Mine arrived with a chip/dent on the edge. After putting the whole thing together, I didn't want to deal with taking it apart again and ordering a replacement just for the top piece, so I kept it. Be sure to check all your pieces (like you're supposed to and I didn't) before putting in all the work. I also wish the wood tops had different styles. Rustic brown was the closest to my room's aesthetic that was available and it seems great for those who have that rustic farmhouse vibe, just doesn't quite fit my space as nicely as I'd like it to.

Very sturdy crate. Lots of room for my mini Sheepadoodle. He can stand and full body stretch inside it. Locks don’t match the dark hardware (they are silver). Gave a lower rating because the top was chipped in 2 different places. Easy to assemble; about 1.5 hours. Big enough I can get lean in and clean and put blanket inside. Overall good purchase.

I have now purchased 2 of these kennels in a small. The dogs are size 5 & 13 pounds. Works well for both, they can each stand up and turn around. The metal is sturdy, it’s aesthetically pleasing, has multiple doors, it was so fast and easy to assemble. If you’re thinking about buying this kennel this is your sign to buy it!😆
