Next to my bed I have a nightstand, stuff accumulates on top, as does stuff on every spare surface. ;-) This freestanding rack allows me to put my CPAP, VOIP phone, some medications and storage on top without generating a big, unstable mass of clutter. The biggest two issues are the need to make mats for the shelves (easy enough with plastic sheets and scissors) so the medications don't fall through the spaces between the horizontal bars, and the thin vertical posts. I wouldn't trust the shelves with much more than 50 pounds, but the total load is 15 pounds in my case, so it is not an issue. I added magnetic hooks and stainless wire hooks to hold my CPAP hose and a pulse oximeter, both are light and out of the way when not needed. All in all I am very pleased with this purchase and can recommend the product without hesitation for a light duty, freestanding shelf set where corrosion is not an issue. I can't comment on the corrosion resistance since this is a clean, dry environment. ... show more

    • Pretty nice wire frame shelving. Not the sturdiest, but reasonable for the price.

First: Kudos to Amazon for somehow managing to deliver this the same day I ordered it. That's remarkable. I've bought a lot of wire frame shelving over the years, both for work and for home. Most of it is quite sturdy and goes together very quickly. This shelving is a little different. The vertical tubing is of a smaller diameter than standard, and the tubing walls feel a bit thinner. Which is OK, given the small size of this unit. The tubing sections do not lock together, but instead friction fit. A couple of the tubing sections are slightly loose, but most fit very snugly. The shelves are all slightly off true, so they don't want to sit square on the plastic shims, but they can be gently but forcefully pushed down until square-ish. The unit includes screw-in feet with adjustable heights, which is useful since everything is slightly off. The shelving is not chrome, but is painted shiny gray. It looks nice, and doesn't stand out. The weight rating of 100 pounds per shelf seems very optimistic, given the thin wire used for the floors of the shelves. 20 pounds per shelf, maybe. But this isn't a rack for your weight set, it's a small shelving unit to put a few small things on. Overall, given the low price and matching expectations, it's pretty good. ... show more

Exactly what I wanted! Easy to assemble. A 70-year woman took about an hour, though my fault. No solid surface to construct it on. No tools were needed. The first shelf was the trickiest. The clips may pop off but be patient. Once you push the shelves down on the clips, they are secure. After that pretty simple. Make sure border is up to keep stuff from falling off shelves. Now my problem is where to use it??? I bought it to store pots and pans, but it would be great for a plant stand as well. I will just buy another!! Feels steady and solid. Perfect. When I get my second one, it will probably only take about 15 minutes to assemble. If you put it together correctly, you can move it around. the poles don't seem to fit snugly but once clips are correctly placed and shelves are pushed into place, it will not fall apart when moved. I am considering a third one at this point for my bathroom. so delighted and getting organized. ... show more

I had bought two of these to hopefully stack on top of each other. I realized though that I could really only extend one shelf unit by a tier because there are specific poles for the top and bottom that has one end not attachable to other poles. So, I basically have one 5 tier shelf, and although short 3 tier shelf, which wasn't what I wanted. Besides that though, you need to have shelves at the bottom in order to stabilize the shelf itself. I had wanted to place an item at the bottom of the shelf, so not have shelving start until halfway up the shelf, but this caused the bottom to be very unstable and almost felt like it was going to shake and fall apart at any second. Otherwise, it works as intended and is small to fit into tight spaces. But bear this in mind if you are thinking about using the shelving creatively for your space. ... show more

Received this yesterday afternoon. Put it together this morning. In my minds eye I visioned it to be taller than it is. Not it's fault I just pictured it taller in my mind. It was simple to put together took me 20 maybe 30 minutes. It seems to be sturdy enough for what I am using it for. (extra pantry items). Fits the location I choose perfectly. I have assembled many shelves of this type over the years, so it was easy. I am not sure why this one seems so wobbly, but it will do for the purpose I got it for.
