  • Good budget start up kit
if you want an upgrade and aren't interested in more expensive gimmicky options, this for the value is really good. The mouse is fine, does what you need but the keyboard is where the value is if you don't want to spend around a 100$ on a "gaming" keyboard or put out the money to build one yourself for your customization, this is great. albeit blue switches (the clicky loud ones) this is good for an entry kit to computer peripherals. ... show more

  • Great budget minded keyboard and mouse
This Keyboard and mouse combo is a very good buy. I bought this for my nephew for his gaming setup so before I gave it to him, I tested these peripherals for a week. Please note, I did not download the software for customization, nor did I get the headset. The Keyboard: I have quite a few other keyboards (I love my mechanical keyboards, own 7 for giggles.), I can say these are surprisingly good for the price. Double shot ABS plastic keycaps are a nice touch.. The base is extremely sturdy. My nephew recently spilled water on accident, due to the drainage holes, the keycaps worked fine after it dried off. The one thing I noticed is that, compared to say a cherry mx blue (I use a Logitech G 710+ with blue switches at work) there is a slight springy feeling and sound. It wasn't anything too worrying but it just took some getting used to. The spring sound will become annoying (to some). I tested it on CS:GO, Rocket League, Warframe, GTA V and League of Legends. The response of the keys felt good. They allow for multiple keys to be pressed, and no ghosting was noticed. I also did a typing test, my average is 80 wpm on my daily driver (G710 at work, G910 at home). On this keyboard I got 77 wpm with 2 mistakes. However, as these are Cherry Blue switch equivalent, they are a bit heavier, and over time, your fingers may get a bit more tired than say a Brown or Red Switch The mouse: The mouse is based off the MSI Interceptor. It's a decent design, it has good dpi variations and I like the fact it includes weights so one can change the feel of it. It isn't an amazing mouse, nor is it bottom of the barrel. Unlike the keyboards, my daily driver til recently was a Logitech G303, my first "gaming" mouse was called a "Sharkk gaming mouse" (literally this mouse, but different colors and a DPI up and down button). The response felt good, I actually scored two headshots in CS:GO. (I'm not CS:GO pro, I'm just an average player). When I moved the mouse left and right very fast, it occasionally showed it couldn't track my movements, but that was more of a test than actually playing in the match. But overall, while playing the above games (CS:GO, rocket league, LoL and Warframe) the mouse seemed responsive. The ergonomics are...okay. Some may like it, some may not. I have average sized hands, it fit comfortably. I was able to get the side buttons with no problem. There is also some sensor rattle. Overall it's a great buy at the price just for the mouse and keyboard. However some may be for finicky than I am and not recommend it. If you need a backup, want to gift a gamer that wants a mechanical keyboard or just want to upgrade, I'd recommend this set. TL;DR keyboard Pros: mechanical Water resistant Sturdy construction Cons- Has a slight spring sound/feeling. Blue switch may tire fingers faster than a Red or Brown switch Mouse- Pros- Accurate Ergonomic (subjective) Weights Cons- Sensor rattle Slight inaccuracy when moving the mouse really fast. Overall thoughts- Overall I enjoyed using this combo set. For a budget oriented person, or someone needing a back up keyboard and mouse (say if you attendance LAN party) this is a great set. I would run this as my daily driver if I didn't have my current setup. Excellent buy ... show more

  • Adequate Entry-Level Gaming Keyboard
This $45 set is a great way to get a mechanical keyboard and sensitive gaming mouse on a tight budget, as long as you're not overly picky. My preferred keyboards use Logitech's Romer G switches. The not!Cherry Mx Brown switches on this board are very much not those. Compared to a higher-end switch, they're heavier and clunkier, with a metallic twang (especially on the space bar) and yet a less tactile feel. That said, they're still better than a membrane, and for someone new to mechanical keyboards they're a very budget-conscious introduction. For me, I use this set (with its smaller tenkeyless board) to go with my portable small form factor computer, where it does a fine job of not making me want to throw the keyboard across the room. The board itself is not addressable in color; wysiwyg in terms of colors, other than turning LEDs on and off. The mouse is exactly what you'd expect from a cheap gaming mouse these days; which is to say, it's not actually bad. I'm not as snobby about mice as I am keyboards, so I'm not the best judge of these things, but I found it very usable, if not as nice as my Logitech G203s. For the record, when I bought this set, G203s were going for $40 a piece, so it's very much not a fair comparison. And that's kinda how to sum up this package. For $45 (I paid $39 for this a month or few ago), it's a great way to get a mechanical keyboard and high-DPI gaming mouse. Obviously, it doesn't stand up against mice as expensive as the entire package here, or $100+ mechanical keyboards, but that's really not a fair comparison. So if you're snobby like me, then this is more suitable for a secondary or portable set, or else pass and buy the more expensive board you already know you want. If you're less picky about your peripherals, for $45 this is a great upgrade on the cheap membrane keyboards and cheap mice that come bundled with a computer or as a starter set for a rig you built yourself, and in that role I 100% recommend it. ... show more

  • Average at best
Despite being marketed as a mechanical keyboard, it is HARDLY mechanical. The switch in the key caps feels very off and just with a week of use, the space bar is experiencing a lot of issues and it has a slight input lag. However, for this price point, it gets the job done.
