  • Great with one downside
Color: Brown Switch
This is my first adventure with a one handed gaming keyboard. I've used it playing one game, Subnautica. So far it has been great for gaming. I was able to figure out how to control the RGB fairly easy. It's not apparently obvious that you need to plug it in and install the software to really control the keyboard lighting and bindings and such. For the game, it was good to go out of the box. Subnautica doesn't really use specialized keybindings. Pretty uncomplicated. I got some pudding keycaps from Redragon and changed some of the keycaps to make certain keys even easier to spot quickly. The one downside I found was when I was using it to control media volume. I pretty easily assigned two of the G macro keys to be volume +/-. The space bar would play/pause, super easy. My problem happened when I was kicked back in my recliner watching YouTube on the connected flat screen. Let me set the scene. I am recovering from a foot wound and have to keep it elevated as much as possible. So we put wheels on my desk (it's an adjustable desk from IKEA, very simple desk... I love it!) so I could move it around. We moved my recliner into the area so I could kick back, raise my desk up and pull it up to my chair mostly. So I sit with my feet up but still under the desk. The desk is still far enough back that I can't reach the desktop easily. I move the keyboard to my lap for easy control and the mouse to the arm rest. My old corded keyboard could reach, so you have an idea of the distance. Anyway, when this keyboard is in my lap or just off the desk, it won't work. It loses connection with the dongle. I have found that even if there is something between this keyboard and the dongle it will lose connection. If I had a different arrangement, this would be a deal breaker. I have a gaming laptop which sits on the desk with an attached flat screen as a secondary monitor. The dongle for this keyboard is plugged into a USB multiport adapter. Not hidden behind anything. The USB port is on the right side of the laptop and the game keyboard is used left handed but usually sits in front of the laptop so I can use my left hand and be comfortable positioned in front of the flat screen. So mostly to the middle/right of my desk. In one photo you see my desk with this keyboard on the right, between the laptop just under the left edge of the monitor is the USB multiport where the dongle is plugged in and then the mouse over to the right. In the second photo you see a corded xbox controller blocking the USB multiport. That is enough to disrupt the connection and keyboard will not work. An no, the controller is not plugged in, its just sitting there. So all that is to say If I had a desktop that sat under the desk, this keyboard would be unusable. Otherwise I'm completely satisfied with it and the Redragon pudding keycaps. ... show more

  • Great for gaming via a laptop but........
Color: Blue Switch
This keyboard is everything they claim it is. I find it comfortable with a good range. It is great for gaming instead of using my laptops keyboard. The only problem I have is that after first using this keyboard and then unplugging it to use on my Dell laptop I lose use of 4 keys on my laptop keyboard now, they are all in a diagonal line 1,q,a,z. Don't know what the conflict is. They were working before I used this keyboard. Fortunately, I don't use the laptop keyboard for typing. ... show more

  • Better than expected
Color: Red Switch
I bought this to use in combination with a mouse on a laptop pad. It works very well with every button you need for most first person shooters, including the map button. Detachable wrist pad and wireless functionality are also very useful and nice to have. I'll probably keep using this even when I return to my desk so I have more mouse space. Again, outstanding keyboard. No need to have a full set of keys when you are only using your left hand anyway. ... show more

  • Gotta Have The Wireless
Color: Brown Switch
There are two versions of this very near in price. One is Wireless, one is not, I went with the wireless and it goes across the whole dang room perfectly. I'm not picky with keys as far as when gaming. But these feel great to me and it lights up nice and bright if you want your room dark.

  • Software is unfinished (like Buggy Beta)
Color: Brown Switch
I ordered the brown switch version. I like the feel and can detect no lag. The battery life and range is good. The HW is pretty good! Customer service is available and responsive. People seem to love or hate the odd placement of the spacebar. I don't like it but they built the "P" key right where the spacebar is on a normal keyboard and I remap it to the spacebar in the respective game settings and it works for me. THE SOFTWARE IS BAD! An included tiny foldout says to plug it in and software will install. No software/drivers installed when I plugged it onto my new MSI Windows 11 gaming laptop. I contacted CS and she sent me the software to install myself and I did. The help "?" is a dead link so there's no way to teach yourself. Clicking the "RESET" button hangs the program indefinitely and gives you an endless hourglass. It disconnects randomly (or predictably if you slide any slider quickly). The corner "X" makes the program disappear but it won't restart because it's actually still running in the background. You must kill the program via task manager (and I noted it using excessive resources while hung) and restart it to re-establish a connection. Like the help link, many functions simply don't work: there's checked boxes that can't be unchecked (backlight effects) residual functions that the wired version of this device have but this wireless one doesn't (customization of keys other than the few G keys) that still let you choose the keys but they don't "take" the new function. It seems like Redragon expected the software from the wired version to work with this wireless version but it doesn't and they don't care. It feels incomplete, incorrect, beta and buggy. I replied to a diligent CS representative 17 times over weeks, made videos of my problems as she requested and tried everything she suggested to no avail. She sent software to update firmware but her (google drive) link was an unrecognized file to me. She said, "This situation has never happened before" and "The software might encounter a lag when the operating system is too fast". That confused me. She asked me to try it on another device. I used my old laptop (Dell on Windows 10) and it behaved the same. I returned the K585 and she sent me a new one. After uninstalling everything, I plugged it in to my new laptop and it too behaved the same. The software is simply garbage. I guess most of the customization can be done without the software and people don't care if the software is buggy??? If that's you, here are the keyboard shortcuts she shared with me: 1)Press REC key, get ready for recording: G1-G5(G1-G5 default as F1-F5),~, T 2)Select the light modes by pressing M1-M4 3)Select the macro key from 7 buttons(G1-G5,~, T) 4)Input the keys to be recorded(7 Macro keys G1, G2, G3, G4, G5,~, T are not available for recording) 5)Press REC to save the recording If you want full customization via software, maybe buy the wired version? Responsive customer service and decent hardware each earned an extra star but it seems like Redragon's software programmers could save their CS reps a lot of work. ... show more

  • Great addition to my gaming setup
Color: Red Switch
Only con is no addressable RGB (meaning you can't sync it with your computer), but other than that no complaints. Does what I need it to, I got red switches and it's very nice, and it's the perfect size with addressable hot keys to do whatever you want to help your gaming experience. Would definitely recommend. ... show more
