  • Escelente teclado mecánico de entrada.
Size: 87 Key Blue Switch Color: Black RGB Backlit
... show more

  • Okay for its price, but not for the keyboard enthusiast.
Size: 87 Key Red Switch Color: Black RGB Backlit
The K552 was my gateway mechanical keyboard to getting into the hobby. As a now enthusiast having moved on to bigger and better things, here are my impressions looking back at the K552: If you are a keyboard enthusiast looking to mod a cheap board, this is NOT for you. Here's why: 1) The keyboard ONLY accepts Outemu switches (which are frankly quite inferior to other switches on the market). It was my understanding that Akko CS switches can fit into outemu only boards, however I was NOT able to get Akko CS Jelly Blacks to fit into this board, but I WAS able to get them to fit into the Tecware Phantom, another "Outemu only" board. This means that the K552 has sockets that truly can only fit Outemus, which severely limits your choices. 2) The switches are very, very difficult to remove and I made sure it wasn't just me who had this problem. I think it's the plate that's way too tight, but you will end up breaking around 20% of your switches and probably hurting your fingers just trying to get them all out of the board. 3) It's very bare bones and I simply could not get it to sound decent, partly because you're stuck with Outemu switches. There's no foam or any sort of sound dampening (including between the pcb and plate) so it will take a ton of work if you want to dampen the board yourself. The pcb is also very low quality and mounted to the plate with very cheap plastic pins. 4) It has way too many standoffs at the most random locations, so trying to cut materials around it is a huge chore. The plate is also top mounted into the case with 10 screws which is excessive in my opinion. If you are NOT a keyboard enthusiast and just looking for a cheap mech that you can use out of the box, the K552 will get the job done, but its main problem is that the Tecware Phantom is better than the K552 in every way and sits at the same price point and layout (TKL). The Tecware looks better, sounds better (it comes with sound dampening foam both between the plate and pcb as well as inside the case), has a nicer cable, and can actually fit both Outemo and Akko CS switches if you ever do decide to mod it. Another recommendation are the offerings from Royal Kludge, although if $50 is all you have to spend, your only options from them are the RK61 or RK68 which will not have the F keys or the utility keys like the K552 or the Phantom so keep that in mind. You'll have to spend around $70 for the models with those keys, but you'll have a lot more features such as better feel out of the box, a detachable USB-C cable, bluetooth, as well as fully hot swappable sockets. If you do not need dedicated F keys or utility keys, I would highly recommend the RK68 over the K552. ... show more

  • Experience
Size: 87 Key Brown Switch Color: Black RGB Backlit
I had never used a mechanical keyboard. It is my first time. At this moment the keyboard is working well. Before I used a different keyboard (corsair k55), I miss the numeric keyboard but now I can say it's more comfortable when I use it during work hours. One important thing that I can suggest is the user should buy a Keyboard wrist rest because the before keyboard had one. After a few days, I had to buy one because I felt uncomfortable. The keyboard high is 4 mm. ... show more

  • Clacky boi can be tamed
Size: 87 Key Blue Switch Color: White RGB Backlit
We stan a clacky boi and boi does he clack. Tl;dr? This little roaring dragon is a fun little attention hog and worth the very little bit of effort it takes to tame. O-rings and a towel did the trick. The little Kumara is like an excitable younger sibling compared to the other mechanical keyboard I have. It's bright and loud and wants attention, and I love it. COLOR / LIGHTS: It's got so many RGB presets I don't think it even remembers what they all are: sweep left/right, pulse, shimmer, fade, pulse, solid color, touch light-up — the list goes on. (You can cycle through them all mechanically with FN+INS through PgDn and change the color of the solid-color ones or the pulse direction with the arrow keys.) The white case/keys make the RGB lights pop. And it's got quite a lot to say while you're typing. SWITCHES: These blue switch keys have a bright, bouncy feeling to them that I can't get enough of, along with their satisfying click. SOUND: It's not just the blue switches that make it audibly loud. Three sounds make this little wyrm the loudest in his clutch: (1) you've got your clicks, which come from the switches themselves; (2) you've got your clacks, which come from the plastic keycaps striking the body when they bottom out; and (3) you've got a ping resonating through the metal body when the keys pop back into place. Take all those and put them on a metal/plastic combo body that amplifies like a drum and you've got a keyboard that sounds like a room full of tiny, angry, old-timey reporters live inside. But don't be scared off by the Kumara's roar. It can be tamed! Don't get me wrong, this will never be a quiet keyboard, but you shouldn't be looking at blue switches if you want quiet, anyway (switches are differentiated by color; blues are designed to go "click!"). MODIFICATION: Here's how I brought this wyrm to heel: 1. O-rings, specifically the Cherry MX Rubber O-Ring Switch Dampeners Blue . The blues are more noise dampening than Cherry's red. You can get an off-brand or try to do something yourself and you might be fine, but I picked the Cherries so I'd know what I was getting. The Kumara came with a keycap remover, so all I had to provide was the rings and a pair of modeling tweezers to slip them on with. The rings keep the keys from bottoming out and clacking against the keyboard body, which was the source of the truly clamorous clatter. 2. I pulled apart some cotton balls and stuffed them inside the larger keycaps to reduce open spaces that resonate. The difference is barely noticeable, which is why I only worried about the larger keys. But it's a little something if you want to go that extra bit. One of the other reviewers took the case apart and inserted foam columns, which would probably do even more. 3. I have a lovely scarf I never wear that I put under the keyboard. It's pretty and it keeps the desk from further amplifying the noise. You can also use a small towel, or one of those extra-large gaming mouse pads (like this one if you want something more subtle than a patterned scarf. With these really simple modifications the Kumara only roars as loud as I want it to, while I get to enjoy all its bright exuberance. OTHER NOTES: 1) My use case is typing long documents and programming. I cannot speak to its performance as a gaming keyboard, though I've heard a different switch type besides blue might be better. Google up mechanical switch types to find what's right for you if you're a serious gamer. 2) I use this with a Mac (Macbook Pro) with no problems. I haven't extensively tested the function keys' media control functions, so I can only say the volume up/down both work. I had to tell the computer what kind of keyboard it was when I first plugged it in but since then it hasn't asked, even after disconnecting/reconnecting it. And it took about 30 seconds to go through the auto-detection process, so no big. 3) The keycaps are easy to remove and seem like any basic hot-swappable cap, and the switches aren't soldered in, so I presume it's possible to swap them as well. (Note that I'm not sure how the fact they are proprietary plays into the ability to repurpose them or whether that affects what the board accepts.) In conclusion? It's not a perfect keyboard, but it's perfect for me for the price. Worth a go if you're curious about mechanical keyboards, don't care about noise, don't mind a few extremely simple modifications, or just want something to tinker with. ... show more

  • Lasts Long
Size: 87 Key Blue Switch Color: White RGB Backlit
I've owned this keyboard for over a year now. I still use it to this day and I'm super used to it. I would say that it is very comfortable and I like the different RGB lights and settings/customization of them. I even eventually swapped some keys. Note that it has blue switches, though, and I would say that it is quite loud. If you don't mind that, though, this keyboard is good. ... show more
