I liked the quality and the look is simple and attractive, however the directions are not clear. We read the directions several times and watched the video, because the measurements on the top of the shade did not make sense to any of us. After we cut it we realized BOTH ends of the shade need to be cut for the shade to work properly. So what happens? We cut one side of the shade not understanding why measurements were on both sides of the shade (it was not specific in the directions or video). It was very frustrating. "We" meaning 3 of us looked at the directions and all drew the same conclusion. I am not happy; however need something to cover a window ASAP, so I am going to reorder due to the quality and appearance of the shade. ... show more

UPDATE: We've had these up for 2-3 weeks and the sticky is already coming undone. We're trying to find a remedy (command strips, screws, etc.) But we wanted to share this update. My husband and I were having a hard time figuring out what window treatments to put in our bay window at the front of our house. We live on a busy 3 way stop and vehicles & their headlights have a way of seeing straight into our living room. We originally wanted custom shades but after getting quoted for $700, we knew there had to be a cheaper alternative. I was hesitant when I found these on Amazon... Were they going to look cheap? Will they fit my windows? Will my kitty tear them to shreds? How will I install them? I decided to embrace the idea that I could take advantage of Amazon’s great return policy if I didn’t like them, and I made my order. They showed up 2 days later, and sat in their boxes until the next weekend. I wish I had put them up immediately because THEY’RE AMAZING! Prep and installation was slightly confusing at first but once we did the first one, the other two were a breeze! Just measure your window, get your cutting board & a knife, cut to the desired fit, peel the sticky edge and place it in your window! No tools needed! So instead of $700 in custom shades, I spent $70 on cordless shades that allow some light in but give us the privacy we desired. Thank you Amazon for always saving the day! ... show more

I really like these blinds. They were very easy to cut to the size of my window and I like the lack of hardware needed. I previously had stick up blinds but I needed these little clips to put them up and they were always getting lost. The pull down/ push up feature is really nice and works great and I don't have to worry about my kids or dogs running away with the clips or playing with cords. The ONLY thing I hate about them is that they were always falling down. I've had these for 2 1/2 months and I've had them fall down at least 5 times, I was very careful to clean the wall beforehand so I can only imagine that when I pull down on the blinds to close them it was making the sticky on the top weak and that it would give way sometimes. Eventually I got sick of it so I used a staple gun every 6 or so inches so they won't fall down. The way the blinds are mounted you can't tell, but that's why I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5. I plan on buying more for other rooms, but I am going to staple them from the get go. ... show more

    • Nice shade but use your own directions for cutting to size

The end result is a good looking shade that functions properly but getting there was ugly. The directions take you down an path of frustration. For example, they want you to use a kitchen knife to cut through the plastic top and bottom frames using a rocking motion. I have a very good, very shape carving knife that was just about ruined using this approach. My suggestion is measure your window and cut from both sides using a box cutter knife since you have to cut through styrofoam and plastic. There is also a cutting guide that isn't useful because it's a frosted plastic which doesn't allow you to see the length markings, and it moves around rather easily which defeats it's purpose. Skip the directions and cut to size using common sense rather than the tools provided. I haven't had any issues with sticking, but I did clean the area with alcohol before affixing. ... show more

I can not tell you how much I love these things. I love natural light. I hate buying blinds. They discolor, get dirty, and have to mess with them eventually coming out of the wall. The wall looks nasty, must be repaired, and repainted. These can be put all the way up under the valances, etc. not to be seen. They filter the light but do not block the light completely, which I don't mind at all. At night they come down for privacy and they still look nice. I put the throughout our house almost 4 years ago for $25/ each. I just now had to replace one of them that I put up and down the most. The blind was still in good shape and clean, but would not retract. ... show more

My cats DESTROYED my regular window blind. My bathroom window is 60 inches wide and faces a very busy road. I love the window being open all day but I close the blind when I shower and do my makeup. However that was apparently to much each day for my cats as they would bust through them. When my blind finally hit its last straw last week I decided to order this kind instead. So I cant speak to the cutting of this blind, because I needed it to be the size it came. It fit perfectly into my window. Installing took all of 30 seconds. I took it out of the box, made sure it was the right size, took of the tape backing, and pressed it up. For the people who reviewed saying install was extremely difficult and the instructions were hard to follow... I guess I don't see what their problem was. It literally couldn't have been any easier. Like I said, I didn't have to cut mine, but still... that doesn't add that big of a headache. Mine is staying up just great and if it ever did start to sag I saw when its pulled all the way down you could very easily add a screw or two to secure it. I might do that anyway, because my cats are jerks. It pulls down so smoothly and stays exactly where I put it. It also goes back up great. I was hesitant thinking it might now stay nicely but it was definitely a great buy. I took a picture of it up all the way and down partially, however my cats (jerks) wouldn't allow for me to pull it all the way down yet... ... show more
