  • Tape speed from reverse to stop to forward
  • Time stretching up to 4x
  • Pitch shifting from -2 to +2 octaves
  • 3 hold modes with forward/reverse/alternating direction
  • Intelligent randomization

Description

The Tensor gives you live reverse and tape stop effects, pitch shifting, time stretching and hold functions that you can combine in creative ways. Slow down, speed up and rewind in real time. Stretch or compress time with no pitch change. Loop, overdub, and randomly slice phrases up to 4.8 seconds. Intelligent randomization adapts to the knob settings. The results range from occasional CD skips, stutters, and rhythmic repeats to random slicing and erratic pitch shifts. Both foot switches have momentary and latching modes to inject pitch jumps, glitches, or instantly rewind what you just played. The Tensor is in a pedalboard-friendly enclosure with all jacks on top. All controls are immediately accessible with well-spaced knobs for live tweaking, and USB MIDI for recording and sequencing. Designed and assembled in Detroit, USA. Requires a 9V DC 250 mA power supply (not included).

  • Takes some time to get into but is worth it when you do
I would have given this 4 stars but the thing that put it over the edge into five star territory was the fact that there really isn’t any other pedal on the market that does what this does. This is a pedal that’s a little hard to get into at first but if you treat it more like an instrument or a tape machine rather than just a guitar pedal that will help you get over that hurdle. I’m just starting to see the uses for it now and I expect to have to take more time with it to really get the hang of it. This isn’t a pedal you’re going to find a ton of uses for unless you’re into experimenting. This is not the pedal for standard blues licks. Maybe the classic rock guys might like the reverse feature for getting Beatles type reverse guitar but even with that any delay with a reverse setting could also do the trick. There are a few main sounds you can get out of this thing and what’s left over is infinite variations of glitch settings and loops. There’s a real nice flanger and chorus in this machine. It’s not a replacement for any standalone flanger or chorus but it’s definitely unique. It does flanging and chorus that replicates the origins of the effect using tape which is a huge plus if you’re looking for that particular sound. There’s a doubling effect that’s pretty tweakable and the final “main” effect would be the delay/reverse delay. Apart from the basic sounds this thing starts to really get fun when you add an expression pedal and use the looping features. An expression pedal will open up possibilities for effecting a sound as you play. That’s important because you may find that live play is difficult or just sounds plain bad without a way to ramp the effect up or down. Looping sounds good with or without an expression pedal. For me, looping really shines when you glitch the loop out. The looper only records up to about 5 seconds and it often feels like less. That’s a limitation for me but considering that this is more about tape effects than looping I can’t hold it against the pedal. Another thing that opens up possibilities and encourages you to use the pedal differently is the ability to switch the live play and hold modes between momentary and latching. So far I haven’t explored that but I can see using momentary latching in live play mode being useful and it can sort of approximate using an expression pedal to go from no effect to totally effected. And do not forget to use this on other instruments as well! This works great on synths and drum machines. Sure, guitar is fun to effect but pair this with an OP-1 or a Korg Volca and it opens up whole new worlds. This isn’t a pedal you’re going to get straight into out of the box unless you’re the type (like me) who always reads the manual first or you head straight for flanger and chorus effects. This is for experimenters for sure and I see this being more useful in practice and recording situations over live applications but that’s just me. Definitely worth it for those looking for something that’s unlike anything out there. ... show more

  • Simply Amazing
This thing is WILD. it takes a while to get used to the way it works but once you get it down it is truly inspiring. This is a difficult pedal designed for unique tone chasers, it is not really a plug and play pedal.

  • ❤ WOW ❤ Ya want authentic tape sounds? Here ya go....
Icing on the cake for my board. Dead silent for direct recording and ALL KINDS OF FUN. Ya want LoFi reversed half speed? lol You've come to the right place. Truly a unique pedal that will set you apart. And the expression pedal is very simple and works easily unlike Source Audio stuff. I have a $30 Nektar expression pedal you can find here on Amazon and it works surprisingly well. Very smooth ramp up or down. And most importantly, it really sounds like a tape! VERY authentic sounding. I was going for a 70s warped sound and now I got it and more. I'm admittedly super anal about my sound and have zero complaints, which maybe a 1st lol Btw...you are the light 🌞 ... show more

  • My favorite pedal
I basically make noise and the random feature of this pedal is absolutely perfect for me. Throw in the looping and pitch shifting and it's almost everything I need in a single pedal. Love it!
