We purchased this record player and a brand new record from a contemporary artist. We have a large old record collection as well. We loved the way it looked and we were able to hook it up to our super awesome sound system. It played old records great and sounded nice but when we opened the new album from the contemporary artist we could not get it to work. There was far too much bass for the lightweight needle to handle. We unplugged it from our speaker set up, thinking that perhaps it was our bass heavy speakers that were causing the problem. We then played the album again, using only the built in speaker and it was the same. As long as you don’t have something that is really bass heavy I think this record player is great. We did have to return it because we knew we would be purchasing albums similar to the one we tried that didn’t work. The needle is too light to handle modern, bass-heavy sounds and it was skipping badly because of this. I will say that for our old records there was not a single problem. It worked well and sounded great and there was no skipping whatsoever for the older records. ... show more

I love this record player. The sound quality is great for the size, and I love the Bluetooth functionality. I know someone who purchased the same record player. Initially, their record player didn’t work, and we had to open up the bottom of the player to jimmy the wires and fix the issues. I’ve docked a star for that. ... show more

Love the stylish retro look. Has great features like Bluetooth, rca out,and radio receiver which works really well. The turntable functions well but the sound lacks some quality or hi-fidelity.

I bought this after finding some old homemade 78 rpm recordings that my family 3 generations back had made in the 1940's. Thankfully they played just fine and I was able to hear my great grandmother's voice for the very first time!! Just to test out the sound quality, I played some of my old 33's and they sounded fine.
