Except for the plastic of the saw body feeling chintzy and light, the saw performs like one 5x the cost. Can't speak for the battery life yet but for the price of any name brand tools battery, it does a good job of cutting metal and plastic.

Pro tip: if you're a bargain hunter like me, you may end up with multiple batteries and devices from different manufacturers. Do yourself a favor by LABELING them as soon as you get them, so you know what goes where! Brother's PTouch labeler works well. As for the saw, it's powerful, uses standard blades, the battery seems to be holding its own, and the tool-less blade attachment is a godsend. For forty bucks, how can you go wrong? ... show more

    • Makita battery compatible, comfortable, light duty saw.
This little saw comes with blades, 2-2AH batteries, charger all in a nice blow-molded case. The battery charger plugs into a barrel jack underneath where the battery connects with the saw. The charger took several hours to recharge the batteries when received. According to the ad, Makita 21V batteries will also work with this saw. The trigger is variable speed and has a lock to prevent the trigger from moving. Functionally, the saw felt well-balanced and comfortable with the 2A battery, this would change with higher capacity power sources. The tool-less blade changer worked well and kept the blades in place. Unfortunately, the shoe on the front of the saw is fixed and curved, unlike its bigger cousins. This may cause some difficulties cutting in certain situations. This is a light-duty saw, trimming small branches, holes in drywall, PVC pipe, etc. Cutting 2x4s, heavy plywood, metal pipe-not so much. This saw would appear to do the job when you don't have the clearance for a full-sized reciprocating saw. I wanted a cordless saw for occasional use and didn’t want to spend a lot of money. This fit my needs perfectly. The saw feels light but solidly built. The case is handy to keep all the pieces together and makes transporting it easy. My first use was to cut a few pieces of wood trim and it handled the job no problem. It comes with a few blades to get you started. Higher quality blades may improve performance. The tool free blade changing feature works well. I would probably buy a more expensive saw if I was going to use this every day to make a living, but his is a perfect fit for my use case. ... show more
