Work perfect for starting wood stove. One of these and some kindling and bam fire started. Haven't even had to use two yet.

  • Great!!!
Size: 72 Count
I use these to get the little grill started and my husband loves these for getting the firepit going. I hate to run out of these. Was very happy to get these at a great price!

  • Quick Lighting / Large Flame
Size: 144 Count
The media could not be loaded. I prefer to use “natural” firestarters made from wax and sawdust/wood shavings to ignite the hardwood charcoal in my Green Egg BBQ. In the past I’ve exclusively used those dense Firestarter “squares” that look similar to particle board. This was my first time using these low-density cylindrical Fire starters. I put three of these Realcook Fire starters inside the Egg, as I normally do when using the dense square fire starters. I found these cylinders to be much easier to ignite – primarily due to the loose curls of wood used to make them (see video). The three cylinders burned intensely for 5-6 minutes, providing a stronger flame than the typical squares, and they were still producing some visible flame at 9-10 minutes. Overall, that was enough time to get the charcoal glowing, so they passed the most critical test with high marks. I noticed no unusual odors which is also important for use with food prep. Although I didn’t check the water resistance, it makes sense that the openness of the cylinders and the wax coating would reject moisture – and that would be a benefit if you were using these when backpacking. These cylindrical Fire starters are priced in the range of $0.20 - 0.25 / each (depending on the quantity purchased), which is a bit more than the $0.13-15 / each for the dense squares (again, depending on the quantity purchased) – so if you are price-sensitive, that might be something to consider. ... show more

  • Effective and low cost
Size: 144 Count
Easy and effective way to start a fire in a firepit, charcoal grill, fireplace, etc. These are a little smaller than some competitors' products, but are significantly less expensive. A major brand is about 3" long, while these are a little over 2" long (see second picture for comparison), but these cost 1/3 to 1/2 less than the major brand. These start very easily and burn reliably for 5-6 minutes. After about 6 minutes, they still glow but don't provide much flame. The pictures show the flame just after lighting and at 5 minutes. Depending on your situation, you may just need one of these, or you may need two or more. With a reasonable cost for an order of 144 of these fire starters, this is a good product at a good price. ... show more

  • Great fire starters!
Size: 144 Count
These fire starters were easy to use and they caught fire very quickly. I was not able to get them to last the 8-10 min that it says they burn for on the box, I was getting closer to 5 min out of them. However, I put a few of them in my fireplace and that was more than enough to get the fire started. They are borderless as well and they feel very environmentally friendly. The box gives you 72 in a box and with the 2 boxes that is 144 of those little fire starters. I think for the price that is a lot of fire starters! I am very happy with how they performed and they are definitely in the rotation of starting fires with my duraflame fire starting log. ... show more

  • Easy way to get your fire started
Size: 144 Count
Even with a lot of paper and small sticks as kindling, I often have trouble getting fires to stay lit when starting them in my fireplace or fire pit. The paper and kindling often burn completely before the larger logs start. Adding a few of these fire starters near the smaller wood pieces solves the problem. They're made of pine shavings and wax. They burn brightly for several minutes, giving the larger wood more time to ignite. They burn hotter and brighter than many of the more dense wax and sawdust fire starters I've used in the past. I use 3-4 to get a fire started, so these 2 boxes totaling 144 pieces should last me several seasons. ... show more

  • Amazing Little Nuggets!
Size: 144 Count
I test burned one of these on my cement garage floor and timed the burn. Lit at one end: By 30 seconds, full exterior is aflame From 30s until about 2 minutes it held a 6-8" flame From 2 to 5 minutes 3-5" flame For the next 2 minutes it held a surface level flame sort of like a burning coal until smoldering out at just over 7 minutes burn time If this thing can't get your fire started, you might need a blowtorch! Amazing product! So lightweight, it would be excellent for backpackers. You could probably make a couple s'mores on one nugget! ... show more
