These are some serious RC car shocks. I am blown away for how big these shocks are and they fit on my custom Traxxas X Max with no problems. I have a very serious and powerful motor upgrade with ESC combination. This car can boogie these shocks were made with the utmost quality and because I got the ultimate edition it was already green so having these shocks with that color was a huge plus it comes with additional springs to help with How much tension you need or want on the car because this is a very heavy RC car. So when you’re doing big jumps as well too, you wanna make sure that these shocks help you from not flattening out. You can’t go wrong with this set. I will absolutely be recommending. The price is very well worth it and very fair. You can adjust the stiffness anyway you want and it’s very easy to do. These shocks are a great alternative to OEM parts for the X-Maxx. Performance is excellent, and the two included spring rates are a nice bonus. They look awesome and feel hefty. Just be prepared—you’ll need quite a bit of shock oil to fill them up. Overall, they fit well and are well worth it.

Initial Unboxing review *Are They Cheaper than genuine traxxas aluminum shocks? -Yes when you consider aluminum caps alone are $52. plus the shocks, plus the springs *Love they include extra parts - Bonus! *I dont know if the traxxas parts are 7075 or 6061, but these are 6061. Meh *coating is beautiful *threads are smooth *cap is sealed by o-ring If my past experience with RCAWD parts is anything to go by, these will fail shortly after install. Unfortunately my used x-maxx purchase fell thru, so i havent had the chance to put these to the test. When i get a chance to purchase one and install these i will update my review to reflect that ... show more

    • Beefy, Like Ultimate Shocks Should Be

These look and feel like the shocks that came on my ultimate. But these come with optional springs that permit a little stiffer ride depending on what type of run you are looking for. The quality is really nice and the anodized green is sharp. Durability feels obvious and they have handled some pretty good jumps and bumpy terrain so far. Even some cart wheels and hard compression one wheel landings. Had to wash debris and dirt off a couple times and I see no rust as well. Overall impressed and happy with this set. ... show more

Upgraded shaft diameter at about 6mm. The included stiffer springs are excellent for helping eliminate bottoming out. The bodies are all aluminum and they are threaded making spring adjustments easy. Anodizing is perfect and rcawd is just excellent when it comes to upgrades and value. Springs are black along with the caps. Just to add if you've experienced blown off shock caps on a hard landing this will also solve that issue. ... show more
