  • “Budget” shocks for setting your crawler up with droop suspension!
Color: Blue Size: 90mm
These are decent shocks for the money, they look great, maybe some manufacturing flaws but I’m not super picky. If you’re like me and don’t want crazy branding all over your scaler, you can turn the shocks towards the inside of the vehicle so you don’t have to look at the cheesy “mountain” text on the shock body. The blue is not a true blue but more of a turquoise color, which doesn’t bother me but might be important to other people purchasing these shocks who are looking specifically for a true anodized blue color. Anodizing looks great, some machining flaws on some of the shock bodies themselves but overall very nice to look at, made my kit look way better. The springs included in the kit probably won’t work too great for a scaler, unless your rig is super heavy and you use the softest springs. I wanted a shorter spring so I could achieve a “half droop” type setup for the crawler kit I just built. I purchased two sets of springs for the Yeah Racing Desert Lizard shocks and used the shortest, softest springs from each pack. This allowed me to have proper rebound for the vehicle to sit evenly and carry the weight of any accessories I will be adding without bottoming out the suspension. I also added 32.5wt Losi shock oil to make the stroke smoother. I am very impressed with the results to say the least. In retrospect I should have just bought desert lizard shocks to begin with but these were an inexpensive alternative so I could experiment. They certainly aren’t the smoothest shocks ever but they do exactly what I wanted. I should mention that I purchased the 90mm variety and with the shorter springs and oil, my final result was about 86mm uncompressed. With the weight of the vehicle causing the suspension to sag and rest on the rebound springs they settle right where I needed them to be. My kit shocks were 75mm and these 90mm gave me the extra ride height I needed along with the proper amount of travel and scale driving experience I was looking for. Out of the box, without any modifications, I wouldn’t recommend them, too stiff, too tall, and too much rebound. I have not had any leakage issues with the shocks which is not something I was expecting at this price point. Very pleasant surprise, though they did come with extra o-rings, seals, and such. I’ll bring this somewhat long-winded review to a close by saying I would only recommend these shocks to someone who is looking for a specific droop setup. I would not recommend for a basher because I don’t believe they would be strong enough, with that I would recommend purchasing different springs for them or I have heard of people cutting the stock springs in half. If you want quality, save your money and buy some Desert Lizards instead. My scaler has awesome articulation and flex now, these totally changed the way it drives/crawls. Regardless of any of the negatives I may have pointed out, these are a huge upgrade for the plastic shocks that came with my kit. ... show more

  • Get what you pay for.
For what you pay they are ok. Bought 4, I have run them upside down and rightside up. 1 of the shocks stays compressed if it becomes completely compressed. All 4 shocks scrape the inner walls and will sometimes not compress when at a slow speed (its a crawler so generally always slow speed). They look good, but I would not run them on a competition rig. Also would not run them at an angle they must be completely vertical to help insure that there is no binding. I will not purchase again as i have found other shocks that work better but don't look as good. If i just left the truck on tge shelf these would be perfect. However it is about performance, and I would have to say they are decent for non competitive play. Give them about a 50% on performance. Value for the money 75%. The thickness 90% on the realistic it does look good. The stretch i dont know 25% they do not compress all the way, they bind most of the time if tilted at any angle and half of the time if completely vertical. ... show more

  • Complete Garbage
Color: Black Size: 100mm
Inexpensive? Yes Cheap (which is different from inexpensive)? YES They do NOT compress all the way, there just physically isn't enough room in the cylinder for it to fully compress. They LEAK like crazy. They do not operaty smoothly. There is a clear "gravely" feeling to the compression of the cylinder. Returned for refund. There is no way that anyone who is actually into the RC hobby could be happy with these. I have a feeling that the only people happy with them are new to the hobby or these are the first upgrades they've ever purchased and are placing them onto a vehicle that itself is very cheap with even worse components. TDLR: If you're really into the RC hobby, don't take a chance on these. They're garbage. You truly do get what you pay for. ... show more

  • Good for the price
Color: Orange Size: 100mm
3 sets of springs. That helps alot. For my sut up im running no springs since the light springs were too stiff. Reall not that bad for the price. Seems pretty strong.
