  • Great refurbished controller
The controller itself is in virtually new condition cosmetically. Buttons and switches all work, but the left hand trigger hangs up when fully depressed. More of a design issue than flaw with the company that refurbished the controller as the plastic case is misaligned there. Ergonomically it is identical to all the other high end Xbox style controllers that I have previously used. However where the lower paddles are located are far from convenient compared to the Xbox elite and PowerA versions where the paddles lie naturally right under your finger tips. On this design you literally have to stretch your fingers out to 'find' the paddles, the upper smaller ones are somewhat hard to hit. Especially if you have large hands like I do. Still, software wise, it works flawlessly on my tower, whereas the Xbox elite and powerA both had strange software glitches I spent days trying to remedy. Meaning very bad behavior in 'in game' computer use. Now both sit in a closet gathering dust. They may work perfectly on Xbox, but on computers, forget about it! Whereas the Razor performs like it was meant to. My only slight beef is mine showed up with four shortie gymbals instead of two longs and two shorts. Not a deal breaker, especially for the refurb price I paid. All in all, I am pretty happy with how this controller performs. I do hope in the future Razor redesigns the lower paddles though to mimic the superior ergonomic locations of its competitors. ... show more

  • Slightly different shape, weird buttons, and weird analog sticks
Okay it’s not bad, but it’s just not for me. Although I love my keyboards mechanical, I apparently don’t like my controllers that way. I personally wasn’t a fan of the dot in the middle of the standard analog stick, I don’t think it adds anymore grip but rather forces you to use it in a weird awkward way.. The build quality is great and the triggers lasted quite a while before it eventually died on me :( This is inevitable with any controllers eventually and it did well, it has WAY better durability then the Elite Controller V2, but fails to give the traditional Xbox controller feel, feels a little to long in your palms. The buttons on the back aren’t quite useable for me personally but the top buttons are great, and feel great. The ABXY are mechanical, it will be very weird when you use it for the first time. It was a good controller and an interesting concept using mechanical buttons.. but just doesn’t feel right to me. ... show more

  • My personal favorite controller
So many good aspects to it, my personal favorite is the d-pad having separate buttons as an option and the sticks being changeable along with the light display. Great

  • Tactile, but a little inflexible.
I purchased this because the Razer Sabretooth that I needed to replaced used gummy membrane contacts for the D-pad which had collapsed leaving the down arrow constantly sticking. I used the buyer Q&A and the answer sort-of came, but not with any specificity so hopefully my review answers the next person who may ask this. Yes, the D-pad issue has been resolved in the Wolverine - it uses a very tacticle set of contact switches much like the ABXY buttons. Huge improvement. The only nagging issue I have now is that the only part of this controller that lights up is the RGB strip near the top. On the Sabretooth, the ABXY buttons all lit up, and it had a small display on the bottom between the D-pad controls. On a quick little ask-around, it appears that customization of this controller is non-existent for PC users, so there's no modifying the colors, brightness, or anything else for that matter. In all honesty, I don't mind - the tactile controls are far more important than lighting garnish, however not having the buttons lit is a bit of an annoyance in low-light situations. If you're an X-box user, you can tweak and modify the controller all you want ... just not us PC folk ... kinda lame if you ask me. ... show more

  • Worth the money. Don't listen to people with bad experiences.
To begin with, many people are scared to buy this controller given the reliability issues that are rumored. I bought this controller a few weeks ago with a 3 year warranty for $8USD. I got the controller basically brand new, it was an open box without the original box. The sticks feel brand new, compared to what I was expecting. You have 90 days to try out this refurb product and return it for no extra charge. It's worth the trial at least if you aren't completely sure about spending 70 dollars. Also, the warranty is pretty good as well. Asurion is a good company and won't hesitate to help you. This whole deal is well worth the money. Worst case scenario you get a faulty controller and have to return it, you can get your money back or ask for a replacement. I bought the warranty to fully secure my purchase and be safe of any reliability issues that may come in the future. It's a good controller, try it out and see if it's made for you. Don't listen to pros and cons that people list in this review section because some of them may be off putting. ... show more

  • The perfect controller (other than being wired only)
Have never had a better controller. Every thing about it is great. The dpad that separates into 4 separate buttons is perfect for precision, and every click of every button feels great. The switching triggers (full range analog vs short throw digital) are fantastic, and I use both modes for different games. It's got enough extra buttons (6) to never have to take your thumb off the right stick to press the 4 face buttons, and 2 more (I have one profile that uses the extra 2 for up/down on dpad, and another that makes 1 button increase analog sens, and the other decrease analog sens). The only thing that would make it better is being able to actually map them to other things, like a key on the keyboard or something. But it's really not a problem because any game that supports a controller is already built around not having any extra inputs. It's pricey, which is why I got it renewed, but it's seriously the best controller ever as long as you don't mind a wired controller. ... show more
