The laptop works great and can run most games with no performance issues but gets incredibly hot on the bottom as well as the power block to the point that it will burn you. The power cable has a pretty inconvenient location with a 90 degree bend after leaving the computer which is great if plugged in behind the laptop but if the orientation is swapped it blocks 2 usb ports. This Razer Laptop is an Epic gaming machine! Here's my list to simplify everything down! Positives: - RTX 3070: The RTX 3070 is one of the most powerful GPUs available. I successfully ran MS Flight Simulator on the highest settings without any frame rate drops. To achieve the best results, the Laptop must be plugged in. - The i7 - 11800H CPU: I use Autodesk inventor for some basic CAD design, and the CPU is excellent. It's one of the most powerful CPUs currently available! - 16 GB DDR4: The ram is more than enough for most games and any typical tasks. However, if you want more ram, it should be upgradable! - 1 TB SSD: It's not exactly 1TB, as this figure includes the Windows Operating system, but it's more than ample. You can easily download 4 to 5 big titles on this Laptop without too many issues! - 240 Hertz Display: The display is buttery smooth and makes gameplay incredibly enjoyable! - Matte Display: The matte display allows little to no reflection to occur. I love it! - Fast Charging: Gaming laptops have immense energy needs, and because of that, this Laptop has a proprietary Razer charging setup which works incredibly well! - Solid Build Quality: The entire Laptop is built out of aluminum and feels excellent in general. The form factor vs. power valuation is impressive! - The Keyboard: The Keyboard feels responsive and makes it easy to type on once used to it. - RGB Chroma: The Keyboard lights up a ton, and the Razer Synapsis software allows for endless customization of RGBs. Razer has deals in place with certain developers like Microsoft to have unique color RGB combos in games like Halo Infinite! - Stays Cool: I'm surprised at how cool this Laptop runs. I'm playing big title games at the highest of settings, and this Laptop stays cool. Some great work from Razer! - The Ports: 3 - USB A 3.2 ports 2 - USB C Ports 1 - SD Card Slot 1 - Proprietary Razer charging port 1 - 3.5mm Headphone Jack 1- HDMI Port -Great Audio: The THX spatial audio is pretty great for most people. Your thoughts may differ if you're an audiophile, but I'm happy with it! -Windows Hello: I will never ever buy another laptop without Windows Hello installed on it. It is the most superior form of biometric security on laptops because of its sheer convenience. - Being able to open lid one handed: This ability represents how well thought out this laptop is! Negatives: -Average Laptop Webcam: The webcam is terrible. It'll do the trick for zoom calls, but don't ever expect to stream professionally on it. -Bad Battery Life: The battery will last 4 to 5 hours on a charge, so have a spare charger on hand if commuting with this Laptop.     • Hot and HEAVY
I got this as an upgrade to my lightweight Celeron laptop. I mostly use my laptop for web browsing and some simple design programs. However, I wanted a laptop that would be capable of gaming as my husband works with an online multi-RPG. There's been holidays where we are over at my parents and we've had to leave early so that he can log in for work. With this, he'll be able to log in from my laptop instead. He doesn't like laptops, so had no interest in getting one for the game himself. So the good and bad. The good... this runs better than my i5 desktop. I haven't experienced any lag. The specs on it alone are impressive and I expect it to function well with whatever I throw at it. It was easy to set up, and easy to use. However... this thing is HEAVY! Going from a lightweight Celeron to this it's really easy to see just how heavy this is. It's still portable, but just not as lightweight and you'll want a padded shoulder strap if you have to carry it long. The adapter is also large and heavy, and barely fits in my laptop case. In addition to the weight, this thing seems to run hotter. The air intake or something is underneath as well. Although the underneath gets raised up a bit, I personally like to sit with it on my lap in bed.... and when I do so it just doesn't get the air flow I think it wants. So far I haven't experienced any issues caused by it getting warm, and it's managed to cool itself at times, but I'm also not running intensive games that would likely make it even warmer. Obviously there are fans, and stands, and such you can use to help with this issue, and probably anything with these specs will run warm. I'm just a bit paranoid that I can't use it as a LAPtop because of how the air intakes/vents, whatever they are, are positioned underneath. But so far it's holding up. I don't have another gaming laptop to compare this to. It seems like more than enough for what I, or rather my husband, will require for gaming. It's more than enough for my tasks, such as web browsing. As far as sound... it doesn't have bass... so if you want it to play nice deep music you will want other speakers. Overall I like it, but I am concerned IF it might overheat. And I do wish it were a bit lighter. ... show more
