  • Excellent Sound, Comfort, and Performance — A Top-Tier Gaming Headset
Color: Black Style: Gen 2
This is a fantastic headset for gaming. The sound quality is exceptional—clear, immersive, and perfect for FPS games. It connected effortlessly right out of the box, and I honestly don’t understand the complaints some people have about the microphone. Everyone I’ve played with says my voice comes through strong, clear, and static-free. One small thing to keep in mind: when plugging in the microphone, look closely at the connector. There’s a flattened section on the plastic that ensures you’re inserting it in the correct orientation. The plastic is soft enough that you can accidentally force it in the wrong way and mar it, so just take a quick look before connecting. Other than that, this is one of the best headsets I’ve ever used. It’s incredibly comfortable for long gaming sessions, the battery lasts a very long time, and overall I have zero complaints. Fantastic headset. ... show more

  • Incredibly solid wireless headset for comfort, sound quality and noise cancellation
Color: Black Style: Gen 1
Let me preface by stating I am reviewing the Blackshark v2 pro. Sometimes amazon combines similar item reviews, this is important and that I have owned this for over a year with consistent usage, using it multiple days a week for 1-8 hours. This thing has a lot going for it with very few downsides that in my opinion do not outweigh the pros and if you can get this for $150 or less it is 100% worth it. Pros - Noise cancellation is so strong, sometimes I don't hear my wife when she calls for me. She was the one who bought this for me lol - Sound quality through synapse can be adjusted to your liking, and I can't recommend it without it (kind of a con) - Incredibly comfortable even with glasses. There is a lot of good padding on the head and ears, prior headsets this was always an issue, recently before this I owned a corsair void elite and even that wasn't perfect, but it was close in this category. - Battery life is actually really strong, just be sure to charge it after each usage. I've only ever gotten this to low battery where it beeps at me if I use it for 10-12 hours without charging it. Sometimes thats a long gaming day sometimes thats multiple days. I'm pretty good about keeping things charged, so this isn't a pain point for me, but may be for you. That said you can charge while using it. - Removable microphone, probably not a huge deal for most, but I use these as headphones not a headset. I use an external USB mic for better quality (I'll get into that later). - Ability to use this with 3.5mm port. I wouldn't recommend this without the USB function, as the USB DAC it comes with is decent enough and having used it without it, this is where it fails, but I'm labeling the 3.5mm port as a pro in case you have a multipurpose headset in mind - THX 7.1, now this is just virtual surround sound but in the couple games I have tried, notably monster hunter world, it performs really well, its weird to get used to but its done well enough. Not a huge selling point, you can get this elsewhere, but noted. Cons - Without the USB DAC and synapse you are losing a lot of potential. This thing is really good for sound quality once you configure it, but on it's own it's horrible, this is why I did not get the wired version of the blackshark v2 with just 3.5mm. - Microphone quality isn't great, its honestly worse than most and for $180 it should be a lot better, this is why I use an external mic. Unless you're yelling, your friends will probably say you're quiet. - Intermittent disconnects, unsure if this is a hardware, connection or synapse issue but it happens infrequently it doesn't bother me, but should be noted. - Synapse, I swear I've had issues with every gaming software (ghub, icue, synapse) but recently synapse has been a pain. I love iCUE (or did) but hate corsair software, but if synapse continues to get worse I will look elsewhere for another headset. Overall, if I had to buy this thing again I'd do it for $130 or so. I wouldn't spend $180, I'd just get professional wired headphones, but this thing has a lot going on that it made it worth it to me. I recommend these headphones to anyone who is in the market for a wireless headset in this budget range who doesn't hold grudges against razer. In that niche, I think its perfect. ... show more

  • Disappointing longevity
Color: White Style: Gen 2
I've been using this as my main headset for over a year. Pros: Incredible battery life: I often forget this is wireless and once every week and a half or so I'll hear the little chime that says it's dying and I plug it in when I go to sleep, wake up with a 100% battery for another1-2 weeks. Comfort: I'd put this under pros, even if it didn't wow me, it isn't actually painful like a lot of over ear headsets can be. It wouldn't win any awards though. Cons: The mic which is the ONLY reason I bought this particular wireless headset is absolutely terrible. Not the sound quality, the sound quality was top notch like everyone said, but the reach, the craftsmanship, just could not be worse. It has this plastic casing around the arm of the mic that feels like it should maintain some rigidity when you adjust it but it doesn't it's like a wet noodle, you try and shape it to where you need it (Which it's already way too short to reach in front of your mouth) but it just wants to spring back and point away. No matter how you try to fix it, it does not work, and I'm inevitably hearing people say "Are you standing far away from your mic?" or "I can't hear you at all" Absolutely terrible design and quality. If you are thinking of getting this for the mic like I was, then think again. This will only disappoint you. I guarantee it. Buttons/charger port: I would say this sleek design really did not do the buttons or the charger port location any favors. The buttons don't feel easy to click at all on this smooth surface, so you really have to grab the entire headset and try and click the rigid buttons, or find which one you need. I don't think it's very intuitive, and it just doesn't feel great. It's not a huge con, but I would never put it as a pro so here it is. Also you'll never land that charging chord while you're wearing the headset, so don't even try. Overall: I would not recommend this headset. When there are much better wireless headsets that don't have a droopy noodle for a microphone, this headset's singular plus which was supposed to be it's mic quality absolutely falls apart when the only way to speak into the mic is to literally HOLD the mic in front of your mouth. I removed the mic and use a Yeti now because this thing was completely unusable. I can't say I'm surprised, Razer has fallen short of my expectations in nearly every product I've ever had of theirs, and I was fooled by some positive reviews into expecting this to be any different. CHANGED MY REVIEW TO 1 STAR: Broke after 1 year and 5 months. The cheap plastic around the connections literally shattered when I went to pick up my headphones. This makes I think the 4th RAZER product that has just become unusable in record time. I will never recommend another Razer product. Don't waste your money. Absolutely disgraceful to be selling products so expensive with such cheap materials. ... show more
