RAYSON SD1202 - Machine is well built and does a good job. The instructions for applying the comb for the pooched pages is very vague. I had to experiment to find out how to place the comb to expand the fingers to inert the pages. My machine arrive missing the bolt that attaches the arm to the machine and had to improvise to find a screw that would work. I hope someone at Amazon sees this post and can send the the correct bolt for the arm. the combs that came with the machine are only 1/2" and I had to order a 1' comb set to accommodate what I was doing, ... show more

  • Starts off great
Style: SD1202
Bought this for light binding needs in our office. First off, it won't handle more than 7 pages of standard 20lb copy paper at a time - and that's PUSHING IT. Secondly, I've had it since mid-June and have only used it to make maybe 15 binders, on packets of no more than 50pgs total (always broken down into about 5pgs at a time for cutting, plus the light plastic covers which I cut individually, one at a time). So, after that small amount of use, it's already starting to struggle to cut cleanly through a plastic cover sheet - either starting to tear at the corners from the blunt pressure or leaving dangles that make it difficult to remove from the machine and then must be trimmed with scissors. Pros: this thing is heavy/solid and the handle/compression machinery feels smooth. For light use, it'd be great but don't expect it to stay sharp for long. ... show more

I was unsure at first. I have had my machine for a few months and I'm happy with it. It can be a bit tricky at times but only because of the actual binder rings when they become undone.

  • Excellent Binder
Style: SD1202
Other than the handle feeling a little slip-slidey, this is an excellent product. I followed the instructions (also watched the product video) so learning to operate the binder was easy. The entire binding process was much quicker than I anticipated. For the record, the settings were accurate and held so that I didn't need to reset anything and probably won't as long as I'm using 8.5×11 paper. This binder cut through paper and plastic easily. I did stay under recommended maximum number of pages mostly because I was using heavy stock and 27 lb. paper for the project. Great machine. ... show more

  • Worked great
Style: SD1202
We used this binder to create coloring books made with card stock paper. We only punched 2 pages at a time but it was easy and actually fun. When you measure what size binding spins you need, get at least the next size up. Our stack of pages (Book thickness) was 1/4 inch tall, the 3/8" worked but 1/2 " spins worked better. They were easier to bind. If you get the same size as the thickness of your book there is not enough room to place the paper on the spines when the machine opens them. ... show more

  • Great Binding Machine
Style: SD1202
We bought this machine to make blank booklets for our 7 year old grandson to use for his creative writing and drawing projects. He is thrilled to be able to make his own books. I bought this type of machine because I often used one when I worked as a school secretary, so I already knew how to operate one. I'm very pleased with the sturdiness of this binding machine and know it will last for many, many years. ... show more
