I've been looking for a small speaker to keep in my outside pouch of my computer pack. I tried a couple of truly cheap options and was so let down by the sound quality that I gave up on anything below $20. I don't need loud, I've got a good home system and in car audio to do that. What I wanted is something small for when I'm in a client's office with no one there and want some "work music". I prefer a solid bass response and clear mids & highs but I'm not trying for boom, I just want to actually hear guy with the fat strings in classic rock or the rhythm line in some ambient background stuff. That said, I wanted some clarity a la my slightly too large oontz speakers in a smaller and a little cheaper package. The Raymate delivered nicely. It's a little hefty but the size is nicely compact, the sound quality is good if a little bright & edgy (though this may change as it breaks in). and the bass is relatively present and smooth for a small speaker (my reference is a servo controlled 18" sub, so I'm not easily impressed). There is none of the IM distortion I could hear in the really cheap units I tried, so complex tunes with layers sounded clean. I'm quite impressed considering I ordered this for just a step up from the $10 to $15 trash units. If you want a budget option that's decent without being chintzy, this is a solid option. I would buy this again, I bought this for my elderly mother to use and her kitchen to listen to music. Large, easy to use buttons. Sounds pretty good. Not as good as some of the larger Bluetooth speakers I've owned, but the sound is decent. It was a little smaller than I expected. Pay attention to the dimensions in the ad. ... show more

For the price, this is a great speaker. I bought it to use it out in the barn while I'm working. Super easy to use and volume is plenty loud for what I needed it for. Battery life has been good. I'll use it for hours at the time and maybe have to charge it every other day or so. It has a ring on one side that I use to hang it up and use it. Overall, I can't complain at all. I chose this over the ANKER because I thought a new brand/company might come out swinging and offer more for less and upset the hold ANKER has on the segment. I chose poorly. I bought this to replace a 10 year old JBL Flip 2. The Raymate sounds terrible comparatively, unless you're playing super lo-fi, 2 instrument music. Any music with depth is muddled through a speaker that sounds like mush. The tone is flat and the highs that are tinny and overrepresented. The only way to make it sound even remotely decent is to tuck it up in a corner of the room and use the walls and ceiling to project the sound. Yes, I understand it's a $23 speaker, I didn't expect super bass or symphony quality here, but I did expect sound better then this. Maybe I got a dud, but it's hard to believe these reviews. Are people these days really this easily entertained? Really makes you wonder. Buy once cry once they say. Spend more money and dont be disappointed. I will say it connected effortlessly, but who cares when it sounds like this. Trust me. Choose something else. ... show more

It's worked better than I expected. No distortion at max volume. It went much louder than other speakers I've had for the same price. It's heavy and feels high quality. I'm pleasantly surprised.
