I read the reviews and noticed several people were having issues with putting this item together. My wife gave up after 10 minutes. It is a very tedious process with several pieces. If you are impatient, this project is not for you! Once you get started it’s not too bad. The parts were properly labeled which helped out alot! Please follow all instructions and use the tools that they provide! Do not try to be high speed and use a drill. You will definitely cause some damage. Follow the instructions, follow the instructions. That’s the most important message I can provide. It works great. The drawers are actually larger than I thought. The spacers that they provide don’t work to great. You will need to buy those separately if needed. It’s pretty sturdy and the lock works well. Looks great in my office. Overall the cabinet is nice but could be a little more steady while opening and closing the drawers. The cabinet comes requiring full assembly which is a lot, and the directions are not the most clear. There was a small piece of wood missing from the corner of one of the drawers when unpackaging, but decided it wasn't worth taking the whole thing apart and the hassle of trying to replace. ... show more

This piece is functional, but it only comes with 4 folder jacket rods. It needs another 4 MORE folder jacket rods to hang 8x11 files in BOTH drawers. I'm forced to file my bottom draw of folders vertically unless I purchase the extra rods.

This cabinet was hard to put together, the locking device did not work once it was installed, it is not worth all the money and the delivery driver left it on the bottom of the stairs for anyone to see and take. I live on the second floor. I would send it back but it not possible. Very very disappointed in this product. So it does not lock and the instructions were not clear…. ... show more

    • Solid but lots of parts
I am happy with the sturdiness of this Ikea-like design and the value of 2 shelves to help organize my home office, but it took almost 2 hours to assemble. Not complicated and no missing parts, just a lot of assembly steps.

    • Directions had errors
Directions said needed four pegs on steps 2 and 3 but it doesnt only needs two the boards only have two holes had to read through rest of instructions and just take by faith it was wrong and it was luckily cause was about to take the drill it said i needed in beginning. Which i didn't.. also i found the lock doesnt lock still opens which seems normal never had a file cabinet yet even metal ones that actually lock... i give it a 4 instead of five only cause once i got through all the issues it does great and looks wonderful in my office ... show more
