Description

The 7” Touchscreen Monitor for Raspberry Pi gives users the ability to create all-in-one, integrated projects such as tablets, infotainment systems and embedded projects. The 800 x 480 display connects via an adapter board which handles power and signal conversion. Only two connections to the Pi are required; power from the Pi’s GPIO port and a ribbon cable that connects to the DSI port present on all Raspberry Pi’s. Touchscreen drivers with support for 10-finger touch and an on-screen keyboard will be integrated into the latest Raspbian OS for full functionality without a physical keyboard or mouse. Turn your Raspberry Pi into a touch screen tablet, infotainment system, or standalone device. Truly Interactive - the latest software drivers will support a virtual ‘on screen’ keyboard, so there is no need to plug in a keyboard and mouse. Make your own ‘Internet of Things’ (IoT) devices including a visual display. Simply connect your Raspberry Pi, develop a Python script to interact with the display, and you’re ready to create your own home automation devices with touch screen capability. A range of educational software and programs available on the Raspberry Pi will be touch enabled, making learning and programming easier on the Raspberry Pi. N.B. The Raspberry Pi Board and Power Supply are not included in this kit, and are sold separately. [Compatible With] Raspberry Pi 3 Model B Raspberry Pi 2 Model B Raspberry Pi Model B+ Raspberry PI Model A+ The display currently does not work with the older Raspberry Pi Model A or B, however there may be a software update to enable compatibility. • Easy to use, good quality
I was looking to reduce the periphery of my old Raspberry Pi, getting rid of the standard monitor plugged into the HDMI port. This touchscreen works flawlessly, the setup is very straightforward, and it works just as desired. I do recommend getting a case though, for example the "SmartiPi Touch 2 - Case for The Official Raspberry Pi 7" ", since the RPI mounted to the back makes holding or placing it a little awkward. Almost a pitty, because the screen is so wonderfully slim. ... show more

  • Great for Raspberry Pi projects.
Being a big nerd, I have two Pi 4 8GB models. I have this one with the touchscreen so I can use it as a thin client (nerdy stuff, but fun!).. Get a decent case for your Pi, plug this in and have a screen that works quite well and the touch on it is pretty good. Maybe another one can be made for a diagnostic panel for my main PC? Maybe a media server for my home network? Who knows, it'll be fun to build! ... show more

  • Raspberry Pi display
Great item for tinkering. No sound output, must use either Bluetooth, USB, 3.5mm, audio HAT or another compatible output. Seems durable if used in some sort of case. Pretty responsive touchscreen with good viewing angles.

  • Mighty Fine
This will work far better, "more gooder" is AL proper, than my now set aside bad choice, with the little four corner attachment tabs :( Will make a very fine work shop computer when the Touchscreen and Pi cover case arrives. amazon.com/Raspberry-Screen-Monitor-Touchscreen-Display was my choice. Very quick to wire it up, though the ribbon cable insertion instructions were vague. Oh, that's right it's intuitive, you've known how ribbon cable connections are done, from birth; 666,there were no sheat sheats. Simply stuffing it in the slot does not assure instant gratification. I'm sure I'm gonna like it and I won'd "need" another; baring an accident. I did fire it up and it worked perfectly. ... show more

  • That’s why it’s official
Monitor quality is great and the seamless connectivity and data transfer with RPI makes it a great option in selecting a touchscreen display for RPI 4B. The ten finger ability is awesome even if probably never used. Display is responsive and looks great

  • Worked perfectly...
I had no issues setting this up. I had it out of the box, in a case, and plugged into my Pi in mere minutes. It fired up and worked on the first go - including the touch screen. Clarity / resolution is good, and responsiveness is what you expect. It was absolutely a great purchase.

  • Plug and play - no need to install drivers or extra software
Works right out of the box. Requires VERY SIMPLE assembly, like attaching the jumper wire from the GPIO header pins to the screen. Good price, easy to use, works Out-of-Box with Kali, Raspbian, etc.

  • Happy developer!
So my project is still being developed. But as far as the touchscreen goes, it was easy to add and worked flawlessly. I have absolutely no regrets! I will gladly poat videos later for this product and this seller. :)
