Honest Review from a buyer. I purchased this UV printer for marking our manufactured products. I own several different types of lasers, 3D printers, large digital printers, and different CNC type machines. After reading several reviews and information on the web about UV printers and their uses, I decided to purchase the Rainbowdgt A3 L805 printer. Yes, there are some bad reviews, and some have good points. The Printer Ther printer came in well packed. There were two shipments, a small one had the inks and a roller attachment, and the large one had the printer and everything else. The printer is large and heavy. The specs do have the weight and dimensions listed. It seems well made and has a all-metal chassis and frame. There are no plastic coverings. The vacuum bed and auto height adjustment work very well. It was easy to get the hardware setup and add the ink. The ink head cleaning feature also works well. It is nice not to have to purchase maintenance boxes. The cleaning uses a reusable bottle. The printer does also come with some extra ink hoses and ink bottles. When purchasing equipment from Amazon, I would always suggest looking at the manufacturer’s website to get more information and what it should be coming with. Once I received all the parts, I was able to get the printer setup up and printing in a day. I have printed it directly on plastic, glass, leather, powder coated & painted metal, vinyl, and a few other odd items. I have even tried the DTF using A&B file with a cold roll laminator. The prints were coming out very good. I did take another day to get the 0,0 point on the bed and tweak the setting in the software. The inks seem to hold up well. I have tried several different chemicals, like xylene, acetone, denatured alcohol, and they had no effect to the cured ink. Documentation This is the big issue. They provided a paper manual and word files and videos on a USB drive. The problem is they do not give a full description of setting up and running it. Some even give different settings and information. I have had a long time working with different CNC machines, computers, networks, and software. Also having experience in offset print or silk screening helps with understanding layer and print order. I was able to work out the issues on my own. The RIP software does not have any good documentation. You will need to play around with it to get the margin, and white ink alignment set right. The documentation does have the base setting for printing. If you want a printer that is plug and play, this is not for you. Software The printer comes with a USB and a dongle. The USB has printer drivers, RIP software and some documentation. The drivers are Epson drivers and easy to install. The RIP software is good. This is just RIP software. Meaning you need to have software for creating and editing images. RIP is short Raster Image Processor. It is used to translate your images and colors for printing. This software does a decent job for the UV Printer and is simple to use. The only issue I have with the software is again lack of proper documentation. Tech Support Yes, there is tech support. As the company is out of China, you must be willing to wait for replies via WhatsApp. Not a fan of WhatsApp. Or you can call them during their normal business hours. Not easy if you are on the opposite side of the globe. I also do not allow remote or computer sharing at work. The computer I have running the UV printer is isolated and does not have network or internet connection. This is a contracting thing. When I got the printer in, it was missing a couple of inks. I contacted tech support and they shipped out replacement right away. They are very responsive; it is just a time zone issue. Suggestions They do say that it should be used in a well-ventilated area, kept out of direct sunlight, and should at least 70 degrees and 50% humidity. This can be a problem for some, especially in a high desert climate. So, I purchased a 3D printer/laser enclosure that was large enough for printer and a grow humidifier. Both are on Amazon. I already have ventilation system for other machines. This keeps the printer are a good humidity, out of the sunlight, and the dust away. Overall, I am happy with the printer and performance. It is a great addition. Also, please note, the Rainbowdtg A3 L805 does not come with a laptop even though it might say it. You might bringing this up with the tech support, or not.
