I got this to replace the aging CB in my jeep. I used the existing 5' Firestik antenna and most of the wiring so the installation was quick and easy. Out of the box this radio has a ton of awesome features. SSB, FM, AM, and more modes such as CW, USB, LSB for more experimentation, all in a tiny package. It has a really nice display, clear audio, and a ton of options to dial in all kinds of features. Some of the options are very specific such as the ability to change the microphone type for using aftermarket antennas. It has built in SWR warnings for if your antenna is mismatched, noise reduction on both receive and transmit, features like "echo" that enhance the clarity of your transmit audio. Honestly this radio has more features than i've ever dealt with in a CB radio including many that seem like they would be very important for certain uses by people who are far more experienced with CB than I am. Basic operation is a little complicated but not bad once you have everything set up. I think for advanced users the range of options and modes is going to be a big draw. I'm having fun researching and trying different things out but it's clear that there's a whole world of CB stuff that my "I have a CB on the jeep because my buddies have CBs on their jeeps and we can talk while off-roading" usage that I have never had to deal with. It comes with a programming cable and software to set up presets and configuration options. Everything feels very well made. This is a premium radio at a reasonable price, and every feature i've used has worked very well. As far as range, and how well it works as a communication device, I don't see a huge difference in range with my specific antenna and installation. 5-6 miles maybe. That's mostly down to antenna though and mine is not the best or the worst. But communications options? This thing gives you a ton. AM, FM, SSB, etc. That is good and bad, because it isn't quite the same "tune it to channel 20" level of coordination when getting everything going. But I no longer have to worry about joining groups of people with CB radios that won't talk to mine. Overall, it's a really good radio at a fair price, and I think it will especially appeal to enthusiasts who can make this radio do things even the manufacturer never planned on.

I have many different Radioddity products, all have been great. All are still holding up with daily abuse of throwing in to the back of the truck or accidentally dropping a HT on the ground. I have yet to kill one. That said, I had a curiosity for CB, it has been decades since I tuned to Channel 19.. is it still a thing? YES! as soon as I powered it up, I heard voices, stations from almost 200 miles away. This. blew my mind that it was still being used and very active. As far as the radio, it is in the exact same case as another radio I own so they must share assembly line. Features are way more than I expected. LSB and USB. FM and AM. I heard one station very well on LSB and he was two states away! This all with a short mag-mount antenna, nothing fancy. It is small enough to probably mount it most places. Versatility in finding a mounting spot should be good. It is not tiny, but it is about 1/2 the size of the CB Radios of the 80's. Power from any 12v battery or your car and you are on the air. Video is of a station almost 200 miles away. I am blown away with this little thing. Only negative things I had with this box are: 1. LOUD button beep on every keypress. Solved by turning it off in the menu. 2. Menu selector button is pressing the round knob. At first it would not select anything. Pulling the knob off the shaft and reinstalling it made it work perfectly. My theory is that it was pressed on too far at the factory, or during placement into the shipping box. They slide on and off and I think if they are too far on the shaft, they hit the side of the case preventing the button click. Such an easy fix, I decided not to ding the product review because the rest of the experience is fantastic. As a Vine reviewer, I pick items I want to review. I am not pressured into leaving positive comments, and have given bad reviews for products that deserve it. I do want to protect us consumers. The star rating provided here is my honest position, looking at the product for my own use case. As I am a DIY creator, I sometimes see products in a different light or use than intended, and my use case and experience may be different than yours. Products such as this review are not free, they are treated as income, income that the great USofA taxes me on, so these products are ones that I am only interested in really paying for. Last year reviewing products actually cost me many thousands of dollars to fund our great government. If a product fails to meet my expectations, I will not hesitate to state it so in the review because it cost me real money.

It arrived much heavier and more capable than expected, a real value. It requires no more than an ample power source between 12 and 24 volts DC, and an antenna to communicate over the entire 40,000 person valley. Compact it is unobtrusive in the dash pocket or under the dash. I have opted for it to be portable between my cars as it is small and ruggedly built, taking my magnetic antenna with it. This radio happens to hit the nail of "preparedness" square on the head. With the landline gone, I was left with only cell phone and internet service. I pay twice but I have come to realize they are one in the same infrastructure and all under a single "central control." Before cell phones and pagers the CB radios and the antennas graced nearly every business. It was the means by which a tow truck or ambulance was dispatched. Usually after the first responders radioed in the need to the station the dispatch would spin their chair and take up the CB radio to call for a private tow or ambulance service of the time and at those businesses a CB radio was used to reach out to assets in the field. Thus there is no question the citizen band radio is the core of emergency preparations and especially for loss or shut off of cell phone/internet service. In a black-out there will be a lot of "emergency" all-band radio receivers, but few that can call out for assistance. The government prepared a solution for central control already, the Citizens Bands of radios. This one is a special prize. Though it can not be tested besides its rugged, heavy construction it has a reputed secret feature. The radio is in locally compliant trim and so its shortwave band transceiver functions are disabled by a pin jumper position under the access cover. I will not be able to practice or test it but just that it is reputed to be there is enough to make the preparedness level of this radio way up and too easy to achieve, exceptional.

I have been using the Radioddity CB 5000 for a while now, and it has been a fantastic radio from the first day. The audio quality is clear on both transmit and receive, even when there is plenty of road noise around. The built in noise reduction works very well and makes conversations much easier to follow without constantly asking people to repeat themselves. Having several adjustment levels lets me fine tune it depending on the driving conditions. The color display is bright, sharp, and very easy to read during the day, while the dimmer settings make night driving much more comfortable. I also appreciate having support for AM, FM, SSB, USB, LSB, CW, and PA modes because it gives plenty of flexibility for different operating styles. The SSB performance has been especially good for reaching stations that would normally be difficult to hear with a standard CB radio. I haven't heard much skip yet but I know this is capable. The built in SWR monitoring is another feature that gives extra peace of mind by helping keep an eye on the antenna setup before problems develop. Setup was straightforward, the controls are well organized, and the menus are easy to navigate after a short time. It feels solid, performs consistently, and has proven to be a dependable radio for everyday use. If you want a feature packed CB radio with excellent sound quality and a modern display, this one is an easy recommendation. The size is awesome. I have it mounted next to a Retevis RT95 and they are physically nearly the same size and they compliment each other well. Instructions are easy to understand and there is plenty of support available online. Also there are already some mods out there if you search. This is a excellent build and amazing value for a CB with SSB!

I've used quite a few CB radios over the years, and this one really impressed me. It combines the classic functionality of a CB with a lot of modern features that make it enjoyable to use whether you're on the highway or off-road. The receive audio is very clear, and the built-in noise reduction does a great job filtering out engine and road noise. That alone makes conversations much easier to understand compared to older CBs I've owned. The color display is another highlight. It's bright, easy to read during the day, and the adjustable brightness makes it comfortable to use at night without being distracting. The menus are also straightforward, making setup much easier than I expected. Having SSB capability is a huge advantage if you enjoy making longer-distance contacts when conditions are right. The built-in SWR meter is also convenient, allowing you to quickly check your antenna without needing separate equipment. I also like the compact size. It fit nicely in my vehicle without taking up much space, and the ability to operate on either 12V or 24V systems makes it useful for a variety of installations. Pros: excellent receive audio, effective noise reduction, bright color display, SSB support, built-in SWR meter, compact size, easy to operate, dual-voltage support, solid overall performance Cons: to really take advantage of the SSB performance, you'll want to pair it with a properly tuned quality antenna Overall: this is a feature-packed CB radio that offers excellent performance in a compact package. Cell phones have basically taken over for most everyday communication, navigation, and emergencies, so I get why a lot of folks assume CB radios are obsolete. But for truckers, off-road groups, or anyone driving through rural stretches with spotty service, this kind of radio still earns its keep because it gives you real time, no network communication and awareness of things like traffic backups, hazards, or convoy coordination that a phone simply cannot provide when there are zero bars on the screen. That is exactly the mindset I had going into this purchase, and the CB-5000 delivered on that promise in a way that felt genuinely useful rather than like a relic from another decade. I mounted the CB-5000 in my vehicle and spent my first week mainly using it to listen in on highway chatter and check weather alerts during longer drives. The noise reduction feature and SSB mode impressed me because distant conversations came through clearer than I expected, cutting through a surprising amount of road and wind noise. The color display is sharp and easy to read even in bright daylight, which matters a lot when you are glancing at it while driving. I will say the whole experience is only as good as the number of people actually using their radios nearby, so on quieter stretches of road there was not much chatter to enjoy, and that is less about the radio and more about how few people run CB these days. Even so, for what I needed it for, keeping tabs on road conditions and having a backup line of communication when cell service drops out, this radio has been a rock solid addition to my truck.

I bought the Radioddity CB-5000 because I wanted a solid CB radio. What I ended up with is a communication center that looks capable of coordinating a moon landing. This thing has AM, FM, SSB, USB, LSB, CW, PA... I kept discovering new modes and eventually just nodded like I understood them all. The bright color display looks fantastic, and the controls are laid out well enough that I wasn't constantly reaching for the manual. The NRC noise reduction is probably my favorite feature. Instead of listening to a symphony of static, engine noise, and random crackles, conversations come through much cleaner. I can actually understand what people are saying instead of trying to decode radio transmissions like they're secret government messages. The built-in SWR meter is another nice touch, making it much easier to get the antenna dialed in without dragging out extra equipment. Whether you're in a pickup, semi, or off-road vehicle, the 12V/24V compatibility gives you plenty of flexibility. Once everything was hooked up, it worked exactly as I'd hoped. Pros: - Tons of operating modes for just about any situation. - Excellent noise reduction that really makes a difference. - Bright, easy-to-read color display. - Built-in SWR meter is incredibly convenient. - Feels solid and well-built. Cons: - Contains enough buttons to make passengers ask, "Uh... is that legal?" - Does not automatically improve my radio voice. I still sound like a guy ordering pizza. Final Verdict: If you're looking for a feature-packed CB radio that performs well and has room to grow as you learn more about radio communications, the CB-5000 is a fantastic choice. It has enough features to satisfy experienced operators while still being approachable for newcomers. Just don't be surprised if you start ending every conversation with, "10-4, good buddy." 📻🚛😂
