  • Impressive "camp fire" for contained spaces
It provided a more impressive fire for our back deck than we expected. Everyone present was impressed and enjoyed it. Cooled and hardened well though we haven't reused it yet.

  • Perfect for almost any where
I purchased this for a beach camping trip that I cannot have an open fire. I lit it on my front porch and was pleased with how much light it gives off. It does give off heat as it is fire, but I did not purchase it for that reason. The fragrance is lovely as well. It is soft and not overpowering. I am very happy with it. No mess and no fuss. Simply put the lid on and you're done. Such a good invention. The can will get hot, so make sure you have it on a surface that will not burn or get damaged by that kind of heat. ... show more

  • Easy to use
This is amazing! I cannot start a fire for my life and really missed the campfire experience. When I saw the Radiate portable campfire, I was a little skeptical, but curious enough to buy one. This is the coolest campfire I've ever seen and it burns just as bright and lasts longer than a wood fire. The packaging is earth friendly too. It looks like it will burn around 10 hours but not sure. I'm go il n to buy a couple more for my next trip. Don't want to cook with this, its just for the fire itself. Easy to put out too. It is totally worth the price. ... show more

  • Great idea, good longevity, heavier lid needed, a pit pricey
I have the eucalyptus one and it smells great. Pretty easy to light, and gets hot. I’ve used it about 8 times, for 10-20 min at a time, and it’s still half full. I like that it is good for such short attention spans. My only complaint is that that metal lid isn’t more heavy duty. Mine has warped considerably from putting it on the fire to put it out. Also would be great if it was designed in a way to make it easier to put it on a screaming hot fire (maybe two extended handles on the sides), because I often drop it on only to have it shift and the fire reignites, and then it’s a game of trying to douse the fire as the lid heats up rapidly. I like it overall and recommend it for uses where you can’t or don’t want to make or babysit a full wood campfire. Can’t do s’mores on it but I knew that going in. ... show more

  • Great portable (and refillable!) campfire
I am a full-time nomad and live in nature as much as much as possible (forest, desert, mountains, etc). Since I spend a lot of time in places that are barely recognized as campsites (if at all), it’s often unreasonable to expect a fire ring, so I like to bring my campfire with me. I also prefer not to smell like campfire smoke and don’t need a huge bonfire. So this cute little Radiate checks all of my boxes. When all cones are lit, within 5 minutes the flame is about 2 feet high. Sometimes if I just want the ambience of a fire but don’t care how big it is, I light only 3 or 4 cones, which has prolonged the burn time of the original wax. As an experiment, I let the fire burn until most of the original wax was gone, then added smallish chunks of pure beeswax to the tin while the fire was still burning to melt the wax and refill the tin. I have been able to do this twice now and estimate this tin’s total burn time to be 9 hours and climbing. So, I don’t rate this product very high for overall value, because if I had to buy a new one after 3-5 hours of burn time that would get expensive very quickly. But I DO rate it super high for solving the desire for a portable campfire, along with the fact that, so far anyway, I have been able to refill it and avoid buying a new Radiate every few days. Even if I can’t refill it forever, I have ideas for how to make my own if I want to…and if I don’t want to, I will happily buy another Radiate. ... show more

  • Perfect for a camp fire on hot nights
I was extremely skeptical as poking wood on a fire is about 98% of why I want a fire in the first place. So much so, that I will build one on the campsite in 90+ degree weather. This is a good alternative for when you want a fire, but its really too hot for one... lasts long enough that you dont care when it goes out... ... show more

  • Amazing for no fire zones! But the eucalyptus smell was weird
We went backpacking in Desolation wilderness, which calls for no gas and no wood fires. This fit the bill. Surprisingly great amount of heat. Very heavy addition to our bag, which we debated, but were all thankful for springing for it in the end. It started raining and both our tents were huddled up together under one tarp. We put this candle in-between and quickly the flame got too big. So, we grabbed some rocks from all around and made a little fire pit and put it in the middle (put a rock under it, too, as the base gets hot). We were super impressed! We even made s'mores!!! We got the eucalyptus one because we wanted natural bug repellent, but the smell was pretty awful in such an enclosed space. Might not be bad if no rain and no tarp, but I wish we brought one regular one to compare. It lasted more than 3 hours in the windy night (we used it the next morning for over an hour). Just top it and fire is out, no coals to leave a trace, nothing. Highly recommend for no fire areas as it is safe and gives you the camping feel! ... show more

  • Easy to use and reusable!
A little pricy for just a big candle but very easy to light and big flame. The thing that makes this so much better for your patio fire pit its that you can just put the lid on it when ever you want to distinguish the flame and then use another night. Update- it turns out I just got 2 uses and less than 3 hours total before it was burned out. Very easy and convenient way to have instant camp or fire pit flame but way over priced at over $10 per hour of enjoyment. Won’t buy another one at this price. ... show more
