This rack is actually pretty good for the price. Assembly was fairly easy however the directions were useless. The description says 19U but it is actually 18U. The main flaw is that the locking mechanism to keep the top part at a certain angle will only work of you have a light load on the top. As you can see I have a good amount of weight o the top portion of the rack and the locks were unable to hold the angle in place. I ordered some 4” brackets on Amazon and installed them on each side to keep the angle in place (See pictures). I am no longer able to angle the rack but that is not a problem for me. I also installed another 1U bracket in the empty space between the top and bottom portion and installed a Pyle 1U Rack tray which is not only practical but also way more aesthetically pleasing. Finally, I installed a clamp on headphone holder to store patch cables on. Initially, I wasn’t absolutely satisfied with the product but after making these modifications I am extremely happy with it. Can’t say much on the durability of the rack in a long term sense as I have only owned it for about 2 weeks but it definitely feels sturdy. 4/5 stars as is but 5/5 after modifying to eliminate the flaws and add extra functionality. ... show more

I’m very pleased overall with this rack! I had some concerns about other reviews talking about damage, etc. and although the box came pretty beat up, thankfully nothing was damaged and all parts were there. Pros: The design is great: The easiest assembly ever. Directions kind of sucked, but the parts are so few, I did it just by looking at the finished picture. Not sure how you could design a better rack in terms of height vs. top angle vs. reliability. Extremely sturdy. As you can see in my pics, I am not using it for mixer installation, but as a studio rack for outboard gear. I have trusted thousands of $$ in outboard to this rack, and believe me I would never do that unless it was heavy-duty. It holds everything safely and sits on the floor solid as a rock. Mine sits next to my workstation and will not be moved, so I didn’t install the included wheels. I love the low height: I can sit in my chair and adjust everything with ease, having the top tilted to its maximum angle toward me. I was afraid the angle of the top might not be enough for me, but it is perfect to make everything at arm’s reach without having the thing standing up too far. It’s perfect. Cons: The only thing I have to say here is that the rack holes on the top, left side of the unit were extremely tight. At first I didn’t think they would go—it felt as though I had them cross-threaded. But after cranking on them with extreme force, they did fit and as a result were solid as can be. I think there was probably excess paint/coating that got into the threads, or they weren’t machined too well. The width of the rack holes were fine—everything lined up properly, but I put a serious blister on my thumb cranking these babies into place. Someone with less strength (I’m 6’2”, 220lbs) May find it more difficult or impossible to screw them all the way down, if other units are made similarly. That could be a deal-breaker for some, but it actually made the unit hold my gear even tighter, so I can’t complain too much. All in all, I would recommend and am really glad everything worked out; I’m very proud to have it. ... show more

I looked at just about every rolling rack out there. I picked this one for the main reason, it had rack rails with screw holes. The others seem to have these rails were you have to get inserts. From the reviews of those, most do not let the equipment line up correctly on the rack. That's a huge problem. This rack has standard hole spacing and everything fit perfectly. They do have slight larger screws than my other racks, so beware you need to order some extra screws and it doesn't come with that many. They are 12/24 size. It went together really fast, simple, didn't even need the included instructions. Very solid. Totally happy with the quality of the parts. Mine came double boxed directly from the manuafacturer, so that was nice. I put some black cardboard on it to cover the empty spaces where there was empty space to hide cables. Overall. I totally recommend it in every way and the price was great. Buy it, you'll like it! ... show more
