  • It's work, but sooooo much easier than irons
This is a high quality piece of equipment that takes some work but if you've changed tires before with irons you're going to love it. I think there's three distinct groups of people that might buy this, so here's a review for each. Are you a tire iron user? Tire on the floor, or maybe a stand, bead breaker in hand, and maybe a couple irons to prod and pry? Oh my, this is for you. Get it today. I cannot express how much better this is. Do you normally take your wheels off and bring them to a mechanic to mount and balance new tires to save a few bucks? Get this! It's going to be more work than you might think, but it's easy enough to swap tires that you should just do it at home. You're going to need a balancer too. Do you just drive to a shop and they do all the work? Well, you might want to try pulling wheels off the bike and make sure you're comfortable with that before you invest in stands, jacks, this thing, and a balancer to do it at home. It's an investment. This thing works incredibly well. It's light enough and disassembly is easy enough that it can be stored easily. Consequently, you do have to be careful to use it exactly as stated in the instructions. It's light in weight and your applying a LOT of torque. Applied as stated in the instructions it works. Apply that torque differently and things are going to move in ways they shouldn't. That said, if you are using irons now, buy this and you'll seriously give it a hug every time you put it away. It really is that much better! ... show more

  • I have nothing but positive reviews about this tool!.
I wish I had one of these tools decades ago. I've changed countless numbers of motorcycle tires using two tire irons. Many times, a rim may get scratched, even when using tire irons with slip over rim protectors, which are a hassle to use and keep on the tire irons. My Harley Davidson Ultra Limited has very expensive black powder coated wheels. I was paranoid about replacing the tires because I do not want them knicked or scratched. I would have to schedule an appointment to have the tires replaced at the Harley shop. I removed the wheels and brought them to the Harley shop. They charged me over $100 to replace both tires, only if I bought the tires through their shop. They will not replace tires on wheels if the tires were not bought through them. They have quite a bit of mark-up on their tires over buying them from the internet. This tool will pay for itself in a very short time. I can remove a tire in about two minutes. Installation time is about the same. It has a replacable duck head same as the ones used on a Coats tire machine used in tire shops. It will not scratch or damage a rim if used properly. Replacement duck heads are less than $15.00 on Amazon. This tool is also portable and can be brought to a race track in its very own carrying tote bag. Set up is about two minutes or less. The quality and construction of the tool is top notch and exceptional. Nothing cheap and flimsy like others in the internet. Another big positive thing about this tool is that it is NOT made in China. It's well worth the price I paid for it. ... show more

  • Best moto tool I own. Don’t wrestle for a hour with tires anymore.
Small learning curve. Changed 6 tires already. Paid for itsekf. Warm tires, lots of lube, follow the video. Works like a charm. Not a lot of muscle involved. If you have multiple bikes, absolutely worth it.

  • FAR superior to trying to use Tire Spoons alone!
So I needed my back tire on my 2012 Goldwing changed and couldn't get my usual guy to get back to me. Probably swamped. So I did the crazy thing and decided to change it myself. I justified the price by thinking about needing my front tire changed soon, and also my wife having a bike, though the tires are now good, and my son have a couple of bikes and also needing to change his Goldwing back tire (and he said he'd go in half with me). I love how compact the whole kit is. It comes with a storage bag that holds everything together. All parts are well made of quality materials. Assembly and usage instructions are straight forward and easy to follow. And it's great that there are instructional videos available too (and I watched several others using the Rabaconda on YouTube). There are a few things that did not go well. 1) the grip on the end of the bead breaker works its way off during use. I had to work it back on a couple times and when I was all done it had come off again about an inch. 2) The bead grease (paste consistency) that comes with the Rabaconda kit may have some good applications, but I also bought a jug of bead lube that is more liquid and I'm glad I did. The liquid is MUCH more slippery than the bead grease and it was useful to apply when trying to break the initial bead, working its way into the bead to help it slip off the rim. It also worked MUCH BETTER when trying to get the second bead on over the rim. I literally had to stop the process when the second bead was about 80% on because it would not move any more. I completely undid the first attempt and before starting the second attempt I used the liquid bead lube and it went smoothly on. 3) I applied so much pressure trying to get the new tire mounted that the rim splines cut small holes in the vinyl covering on the tire stop rod that keeps it from rotating. I think that will quickly wear out after changing just a few tires. Maybe next time I'll also put a rag in there on the rod. So for these 3 items, I gave it 4 stars - but that DOESN'T mean I'm not happy with the machine as a whole. Overall I was happy to be able to change my own tire and get it done much sooner than waiting for the shop. When I had my tires changed at a shop a few years ago I saw how much that machine worked to break beads and unmount tires. I thought I could never do it with spoons myself. This machine does make it possible to mount my own Goldwing tires and I'm real happy for that. ... show more

  • Way easier than hand levers
I've been changing my own tires with levers and a lot of effort for a lot of reasons. It's not been easy, so when I learned of this tool, I had to give it a try. It looked easy on their video, but they were right saying there is a learning curve. It's not a machine, it's a hand operated tool, but changing tires is way easier with this. It's not cheap and I know I won't use it really often, but I'm very happy with it. ... show more
