    • Received Damaged with Multiple Quality Issues
Unhappy with the R4 from the day I received the 26” BMX. Two holes in the shipping carton right at the crank arm drive side. While opening the shipping carton I noticed all the staples had been pulled out and the carton had been re-taped. Looks like the bike had been returned before? Once opened, I installed bars and seat post and after aftermarket lock washer that was supplied for seat post clamp. If the aftermarket seat post was the correct diameter, the bike would not need the lock washer. After seat was installed I flipped bike over to insert the crank. I found it to be loose, wobbly not shimmed correctly and did not spin 360 degrees without forcing it past the sticky point. I took it apart and reinstalled it with the correct shims and spacing only to find I wasn’t able to adjust the wobble out and still had a small sticky spot. Bottom line is the crank is bent a bit. I had hoped the problems stopped there and finished putting the bike together. Inflated the tires and tightened all the bolts down and went for a test ride. More problems….both rims are not true and need to be trued on a truing stand by a professional. That said the v-breaks cannot adjust correctly without rims being true. The crank keeps coming loose. I fear snapping the bolt on it if I torque on them anymore. When the crank starts getting loose I start hearing the frame creaking somewhere. At this point I started really inspecting the bike for the cause of the issues, front to back figuring that when crank got bent during shipment the bottom bracket might have also been bent. What I found was yes…bottom bracket is not parallel with front and rear axle dropouts. Also, the front and rear dropouts are not parallel to each other. Nothing is parallel! The loop tail bars on the rear do not have the same radius bends in them and are welded too far apart so the v-break will not adjust properly. This bike was bad from the manufacturer. I’m willing to bet all the frames are bad like this one! I could go on but I’ve said enough. Please help. This was a gift and the only parts worth saving are the rims that are out of true. ... show more
