I live in a studio apartment and this doesn't take up a lot of space and definitely blows cold. I have been running it all summer and it seems to be sputtering a bit. My advice is don't forget the clean the filters in the back, they get full quick especially with animals. The window piece didn't fit my window. There's two pieces that are adjustable. It's too big with both pieces and too small with just one. The tube on the back dislodges and is hard to get back in. I hope I can use this thing for many summers. If it lasts, definitely worth the money. Noise is not noticable to me most of the time, but noise doesn't bother me to sleep. Definitely love the little remote ❤️ I live in a dry state so I cannot comment on the dehumidifier part of this, I'm sorry :) I also live with flat rate utilities so I do not know about the energy efficiency. ... show more

I got the 8000 BTU model. The Item came a week late because for some reason it marked delivered for an address in Florida. But I live on the west coast. and have never lived in florida. Checked the initial orders address and it was correct. This was an issue on the companies side. Whilst the AC was delivered a week later, communication with the company left me wondering what was going on, They only sent one message during the entire process asking me to confirm the tracking number. After confirming the tracking number there was no more messages. I had to check amazon and UPS website daily to see if there was any change. After about 2 days there was change, though I was unsure what exactly was happening. Was the item being returned and another sent out? Did the company send a new one as soon as they could? No idea what happened. But eventually I did receive the package. All in all customer service is seriously lacking. Now onto the device. I have used it daily and was worried about several issues before I received the item due to reviews. So I want to address the common issues that have been reported. 1. Alot of reviews about the AC turning off and not turning back on. This has somewhat been an issue. Sometimes it powers down Completely and sometimes it stops blowing but stays on. This has easily been fixed by turning it on and off. 2. The Air is very cold on high. And does wonders in my 350 sq ft apartment. 3. Noise - I have had many Window units in my home. This portable AC is no louder than an actual window unit. And Finally, I just want to add that the company should develop and carry an attachment for casement window installation to better assist customers in the north. I have rigged my window to the best of my ability, but surely the company could capitalize on this issue if they wanted. ... show more

Everything on this product works exactly how it’s advertised, and it cools surprisingly well all things considered. However I’m still confused on where or how we are supposed to empty the ac unit when using the dehumidifier mode. The ‘manual’ if you can call it that, states something about connecting the hose to the very bottom of the outlet but there is only one place where the drain hose can connect to the unit…and it’s already connected there. Haven’t used the dehumidifier mode simply for this reason. I don’t want my ac to overflow or break because I didn’t connect the hose to the right outlet. ... show more

Everything is good, work fine, but it is 5000 BTU capacity not 8000 BTU. Check your yellow energy guide label. I am not sure this is an honest mistake.

It's not loud though it does make a little noise (what A/C doesn't) and it does, of course, need to have the hose hooked up to allow the A/C to drain. However, other than that, it works great and we've had no problems with it.

I bought a 10,000BTU and after professionally installing it, we found out the portable air conditioner did not work. I tried to return the item, but found out I had to pay to return it. I was REALLY frustrated with the purchase and the entire experience. I wrote a not so good review, which I’m totally taking back. Why? I wrote the seller and explained the situation. To my surprise the seller agreed to send me an entirely new portable air conditioner. It was awesome! In a few days I had a new working portable air conditioner, and I’m very grateful for the sellers effort to rectify the situation.
