Highly impressed by this little jar. (It is kind of small but will probably last a long time since you don’t need much). I bought for the dry shampoo effect but the first time I used it I realized I’ll use it for texture and volume. It actually amazed me. I was concerned about the scent because I am sensitive to odors, but while it is there, it’s enjoyable and not too strong for me. The ONLY negative I have noticed is that when you run your hand through your hair afterwards it transfers some residue to your hands and I feel like I have to wash my hands again. I wish I’d remembered to take a before photo but just imagine super flat and straight, stuck to my head. I will rebuy.

I have fine hair that gets oily quickly and I've struggled with finding something that keeps my bangs in place without making them greasy. Hairspray does work but I don't like the way it makes my bangs feel so stiff and the hairspray makes it difficult to use dry shampoo on my bangs later in the day when they get greasy. I saw people using this for their bangs and I decided to give it a try not is definitely NOT cheap so it was a gamble. I use the TINIEST amount and rub it in my fingers to warm it up and then apply it through my bangs and also my face framing layers and then shape or brush and voila! It hold my hair in place where I want it and adds a bit of texture without making it feel stiff and I can still brush through it easily. It also keeps my bangs from falling flat because I can pull/brush my bangs up from the scalp and they will stay. It does seem to help with oil but not to the degree of my favorite K18 dry shampoo and it also doesn't make my hair greasy either which is an issue I have had with a lot of styling products. It does leave a slight gritty sensation on your hair but it's not too bad. Most texturing products work by adding grittiness so that's to be expected. Highly recommend using a sulfate shampoo or clarifying shampoo to wash it out. I docked a star because for me it is not a replacement for dry shampoo even though it's advertised as one and I do think it's very overpriced BUT one jar should last me forever honestly with how little I use. It is a great fringe/bang styling paste that doesn't make my bangs oily, tames a bit of the oil, and actually keeps my hair in place. The jar is also small enough to toss into a bag or you could even transfer some out into a smaller jar for on the go use. It's perfect for travel because it's not a liquid. If you have bangs/fringe or layers you're trying to keep in place or if you need some volume this is a great product. If you're looking for a dry shampoo just save yourself the hassle and get K18's Air wash.

I bought this because it is marketed as a "dry shampoo paste." As someone with oily hair, I expected it to absorb oil and extend the time between washes. It does neither. I used it exactly as directed: a small amount on second-day hair, applied directly to the roots and scalp where oil buildup occurs. I did not overapply it. The result was more volume, more grit, and a stiffer texture. What it did not do was absorb oil or make my hair look cleaner. In fact, my roots actually appeared darker and oilier after application, which is the exact opposite of what I expect from a dry shampoo. As a blonde, one of the biggest benefits of dry shampoo is that it absorbs oil and helps eliminate the darker, greasy-root look that appears between washes. This product made that problem worse, not better. R+Co should stop calling this a dry shampoo and market it for what it actually is: a texturizing paste. If you're looking for volume, grit, separation, and a matte texture, you may enjoy it. If you're looking for a product that absorbs oil, refreshes dirty hair, or helps you go longer between shampoos, this is not it. The marketing is misleading because the people most likely to buy something called a "dry shampoo" are people with oily hair. As someone with oily hair, I found the oil-absorbing ability to be effectively zero.

This is a two part review!!! First I attempted to use this as a dry shampoo and my greasy roots - for context I have very fine, somewhat thin, long hair. Initially it appeared as though the grease was being absorbed, but it has a rough texture and is a little hard to work into the roots and in a few hours my roots were looking greasy again. I decided to return the product HOWEVER I did see that this product was marketed for use in order to add volume to roots. Given that I have very fine and thin hair, this intrigued me and I decided to give it a go. After brushing out my wet hair, I rub about about 2 pea sized globs between my fingers and then through my scalp. I blew it dry, and also attempted an air dry as well, and both worked great for adding volume!! The smell is also very nice imo. The texture and volume last all day and are easily refluffed from time to time in the bathroom with a quick shake of my fingers through my scalp. The texture continues to be slightly offputting, however that is to be expected with a texture product! I can still brush through my entire head without moving too much of the product to my roots. I have found that this product lasts until the next day as well - I have combined it with k18’s air wash dry shampoo and ouai’s hair oil for my ends and this seems to be a winning combo!! I give 5 starts for texture, and 1 star for dry shampoo lol. If you have fine, thin hair and want more volume consider giving this a go!!

Ok so I kept seeing this product on social media being promoted by influencers and I was really skeptical... thought I'd give it a try. I saw some mixed reviews on here and a lot of people hating on this product too. I tried it just now and wow I'm oddly surprised. So first off, yeah the price is kind of steep , but you literally only need a pea sized amount whenever you use it, so a little probably goes a long way. First impression I thought the packaging seemed kind of cheap and plastic and even the label was stuck on crooked. I opened the product and it smells really good, kind of a sweeet, fresh scent and a little bit like men's perfume. Smells leagues better than dry shampoo thats for sure. Anyways I gave it a whirl, dug a little pea sized amount with my fingernail, warmed it up between my fingertips and rubbed it in my scalp near my bangs and then kind of styled them with my fingers a bit. I have blunt baby bangs btw so yes they are a nightmare to style. So my first thought was, wtf what a weird texture, feels kind of unpleasant in a way, but damn it worked like magic. It gives amazing volume and definitely a matte texturized finish. Kind of more like a matte styling paste with the illusion of clean hair. Don't expect your hair to feel soft, healthy, and clean to touch though...just go shower and wash your hair if that's what you're looking for lmao. Anyways, I like how it can easily give a messy volumized rock star look if thats what you're going for, or also for a last minute, no time to shower need to get out of the house in two minutes but need to look presentable kind of thing. Yes I like this product.

I saw this advertised all over social media and decided to give it a try. As other reviews said, if it was an amazing product, I wouldn’t mind the price for the size. It smells great, which is a plus but the product is like hardened clay. I had to scrape it out and dig it out from under my nail (a pea size) and attempt to rub my hands together to get it to warm up enough to get through my hair. Because of this it wasn’t evenly distributed at all and hard to work it in to my scalp. Left my roots feeling sandy and my roots looked like I had a styling product in it instead of a dry shampoo. I’ve tried it on day 1 hair and day 3 hair and the results are always the same. Glad it works for others and was really hoping it would work for me but I guess my search continues.

Honestly this is the best dry shampoo product I’ve ever used. Instantly transforms your hair and a little goes a long way so the jar has lasted me much longer than any spray/powder ever has. I wouldn’t say it doesn’t leave a residue, as you can definitely feel a bit of a powdery sort of leftover on the areas you apply to but it’s very subtle and doesn’t affect the appearance of the hair. It also smells amazing! My only issue is the price feels a bit steep, it’s kinda ridiculous considering the size of the jar BUT.. I will admit it does last a long time as long as you remember that a little bit goes a long way. Definitely a must have for those with greasy bang problems. Love it!
