  • So far so good!
I own a 2007 Chevy Avalanche with the Active Fuel Management system. Every time I would slow down I would get this shudder or vibration throughout my whole vehicle. I had no clue of what could be causing this but did some research. I lubed my calipers, checked and lubed my drive shaft. I changed my spark plug wires, throttle body and was to the point of changing the wheel hubs and the torque converter. After reading some online threads I found the information about disabling the AFM by using an OBD II plug in. I figured what could it hurt. So I ordered this little device, disconnect my negative on my battery, installed the disabler, reconnected the battery and an immediate difference was noticed. V8 mode is now constant and no more vibration/shudder when slowing down. This saved a lot of money I would have spent trying to figure out this issue. Because of V8 mode your vehicle will burn more fuel but at the same time lengthen the life of your engine. I haven't noticed a significant battery drain but it's possible it your vehicle is not driven for long periods of time. This device doesn't delete AFM, it just disables it. ... show more

  • This Here DooHickey Seems To Actually Work..
Having read all the horror stories about collapsed lifters and premature engine rebuilds caused by the Chevy AFM system, I opted to get a bypass widget. Installed it after disconnecting the negative battery cable then fired up the engine (2018 Chevy Silverado 1500 w/ 5.3l with 24k miles). Device worked as advertised and I never had a V4 drop off on a 450 mile round trip pulling a small enclosed cargo trailer carrying about a ton of weight. Mileage dropped from 22 mpg to 13 mpg on highway but it was all because of the poor aerodynamics of the brick shaped trailer. Also had several bizarre prompts on dash--Roll Driver Window All The Way Down Then All The Way Back Up, Open Then Close Driver Side Door...odd. Did enjoy the quicker response when pulling away from stop signs and red lights and ridding the truck of the unnerving floating feeling when going from 8cyl to 4cyl. More precise shifting from the tranny too. ... show more

  • Stopped Oil Consumption
Waited for 2 oil change cycles on my 2013 Sierra 5.3 before reviewing. I change my own oil and filter. I was getting "low oil pressure" because of Low Oil Level with anywhere between 20 to 35% left on the oil life monitor. I would have to add 1-3 quarts to get level back up, and make it until oil change. Also would notice only 2 to 3 quarts left in oil pan upon draining (not counting filter). Reading fourms online my symptoms led to my diagnosis that I had an "over active" Active Fuel Managment lifter creating too much oil spray then burning through the PVC system. Since this device disables the AFM system, as well as reading others online, I decided to try this device. After 2 oil change cycles, I have not received the "Low Oil Pressure" message, AND noticed almost a full 5 quarts drain from oil pan (not counting filter) so almost the full 6 qts added. I am also hopeful this will lessen the chances of having damaged lifters/cam, which is a a common issue with these engines. I also DID NOT notice any difference in fuel economy. I also researched and this device DOES allow overdrive/converter lock up (which is a hack by leaving truck in M5 gear range) I purchased this for my particular issue, which MAY NOT be your issue. Many variables can create excessive oil usage/burning. I had 25 years of GM dealership experience before retiring 8 years ago into the high voltage electrical field. I also use ONLY Dexos approved oil as well as Delco filters. I also change oil with between 10-0% on oil life monitor system depending on when I can get it done. Thats my review. I will update if I notice any huge issues, but for me, for now this device far exceeded my personal expectations. ... show more

  • Do not recomment
The media could not be loaded. Bought a few months back and it worked well, on my way home today started the truck up and heard a chime- wasn’t worried started to drive home(hour long) and my whole dash lit up like a tree, gauges stopped working or they were just all over the place, pulled over n didn’t see any issues, made it 1 mile and it all started again, trans wouldnt shift, gauges, bucking—the whole 9. Pulled over gained and u plugged this item. Drove home almost no issues. Trans now bucks some times. No lights on and ran codes- found multiple. Kept driving and codes gone but still a slight buck in the trans . DO NOT BUY!! But a reputable company . Attached is a video and a screen shot off my obd2 scanner 2010 Yukon xl 6.2l ... show more

  • Simple and Works just fine
After a couple weeks it stopped working?? I will NEVER have a vehicle without this device hooked up to it. If I wanted V4 I would buy a V4!!! I purchase my trucks and SUVs with V8s so I can have a V8. I can only speak for GM engines, but this thing works as advertised. Still getting 18+ MPG with V8 running all the time, and no more of that V4 under power. SImple to hook up, disconnected Negative Battery Cable, Installed as directed, re-connected battery. My truck went through a self diagnostic, and shortly after the computer recognized all the electronics I had no more V4. ... show more
