  • So far so good!
I own a 2007 Chevy Avalanche with the Active Fuel Management system. Every time I would slow down I would get this shudder or vibration throughout my whole vehicle. I had no clue of what could be causing this but did some research. I lubed my calipers, checked and lubed my drive shaft. I changed my spark plug wires, throttle body and was to the point of changing the wheel hubs and the torque converter. After reading some online threads I found the information about disabling the AFM by using an OBD II plug in. I figured what could it hurt. So I ordered this little device, disconnect my negative on my battery, installed the disabler, reconnected the battery and an immediate difference was noticed. V8 mode is now constant and no more vibration/shudder when slowing down. This saved a lot of money I would have spent trying to figure out this issue. Because of V8 mode your vehicle will burn more fuel but at the same time lengthen the life of your engine. I haven't noticed a significant battery drain but it's possible it your vehicle is not driven for long periods of time. This device doesn't delete AFM, it just disables it. ... show more

  • Disappointing Performance: Qzucar Active Fuel Management Disable Device Review
As a user of the Qzucar Active Fuel Management Disable Device for less than a year, my experience has been marked by disappointment. Initially, the device seemed promising, offering to disable the Active Fuel Management (AFM) system in my vehicle. However, its performance quickly deteriorated, ultimately failing altogether. Despite following the provided instructions, Unfortunately, the device completely ceased to function after less than a year of use. Despite troubleshooting attempts, I was unable to resolve the issue. This unreliability renders the Qzucar AFM Disable Device an unreliable investment, failing to deliver on its promises of improved vehicle performance and efficiency. In conclusion, my experience with the Qzucar Active Fuel Management Disable Device has been underwhelming and ultimately unsatisfactory. Its inability to maintain functionality for even a year undermines its value and reliability. As such, I cannot recommend this product to others seeking to disable the AFM system in their vehicles. ... show more

  • Great value! Works as-advertised.
This is easy to use, seems to work as-advertised, and the price-point is better than I've seen anywhere else. Great value! I haven't been able to do a highway mileage test yet but on my commute to work I get the same mileage as before, but have the benefit of all 8 cylinders all of the time.

  • Stopped Oil Consumption
Waited for 2 oil change cycles on my 2013 Sierra 5.3 before reviewing. I change my own oil and filter. I was getting "low oil pressure" because of Low Oil Level with anywhere between 20 to 35% left on the oil life monitor. I would have to add 1-3 quarts to get level back up, and make it until oil change. Also would notice only 2 to 3 quarts left in oil pan upon draining (not counting filter). Reading fourms online my symptoms led to my diagnosis that I had an "over active" Active Fuel Managment lifter creating too much oil spray then burning through the PVC system. Since this device disables the AFM system, as well as reading others online, I decided to try this device. After 2 oil change cycles, I have not received the "Low Oil Pressure" message, AND noticed almost a full 5 quarts drain from oil pan (not counting filter) so almost the full 6 qts added. I am also hopeful this will lessen the chances of having damaged lifters/cam, which is a a common issue with these engines. I also DID NOT notice any difference in fuel economy. I also researched and this device DOES allow overdrive/converter lock up (which is a hack by leaving truck in M5 gear range) I purchased this for my particular issue, which MAY NOT be your issue. Many variables can create excessive oil usage/burning. I had 25 years of GM dealership experience before retiring 8 years ago into the high voltage electrical field. I also use ONLY Dexos approved oil as well as Delco filters. I also change oil with between 10-0% on oil life monitor system depending on when I can get it done. Thats my review. I will update if I notice any huge issues, but for me, for now this device far exceeded my personal expectations. ... show more

  • Easy to install, just make sure you disconnect the battery before you plug it in.
I purchased this after the afm/dod system made a lifter freeze and I had to replace it. I did the afm/dod delete by modifying the VLOM, removing the oil pressure screen and installing this unit. Presto-no more 4 or 6 cylinder mode in my 2008 5.3 V8. The truck shifts better, has plenty of low end torque. No problems at all, if you want to make sure your vehicle runs in full-time V8 mode, this works. ... show more

  • Works just like it says it should.
Installed in my 2018 chevy Z71 Texas Edition. Works great. Never kicked down in V4. Improved throttle response. Turning 1500 rpm at 65 mph with 22 mpg. Now all I need to do is the transmission bypass and program so the torque converter doesn't engage until after 2nd gear.
