As expected, it was not a direct fit on my Delta 10 inch Contractor saw. However, the supplied bracket was easily modified with a hacksaw, file and drill to fit properly. The hose connection supplied with the unit fit my existing small vacuum cleaner hoses after removing the adapter from one end. I have a 1998 Delta Model number 36-920 Grand Edition Unisaw. I have been looking for one of these but the design was different than any aftermarket ones that I was able to find, originals that I found on ebay etc were far too expensive. This one did need to be modified a bit but it only took me about 30 minutes, using a rat tail file to enlarge the mount slot enough for the larger bolt size on my saw. I then marked the writhing knife at 90° and 45° settings to accommodate the throat plate, I cut it at 3/8ths" deep on the short end. As you can see I cut out more than necessary, it won't affect the integrity of the knife but you will probably want to dial it in a little better. The other advantage is that when I get my new shop all together, this will double as an overhead unit. Pictures to follow. ... show more

    • The guard cover is okay. The riving knife/mounting plate needed LOTS of work.
I'd stay away from this thing if I didn't have a metal cutting band saw. I basically chopped off half of it to fit my old Grizzly 1022. I could have done the same with just the guard and a piece of steel I had laying around. Like an old metal ruler from a combination square. I'd like it if it had a larger opening for the dust collection, but it still works. And it does indeed guard my fingers from that blade, which was the main goal. So, three stars. The guard is good and seems pretty impact resistant. But installing it was an exercise in tinkering. It needed a lot of cutting away material that didn't fit and I had to drill another hole in the riving knife plate. But since I would have paid about the same for the guard itself and just made my own mounting plate/riving knife with a scrap piece of steel, I'm satisfied. I bought my old Delta contractors saw used and it was missing the splitter. I’ve been using Micro-jigs great mini splitters but wanted something that would help with dust collection. This has been the perfect solution. I made some modifications the will void any warranty and may weaken the strength of the splitter. I DO NOT RECOMMEND YOU DO WHAT I DID! That said with the replacement of the bolt that holds the splitter to the table with a star nut and a few notches cut to allow it to slip in and out without completely removing the bolt and to account for the inset. I know have a blade guard and splitter tat work perfectly with my saw but is easy to remove if I need to cut dados. I had to use a heat gun to soften the plastic shop-vac adapter I used to connect my hose to the top of the blade guard (final setup is different than the pictures for dust extraction) but otherwise it works great and is a solid and secure fit. This item had several mixed reviews, but I read through them and bought it anyway. I have a older Ridgid tablesaw that doesn't have any type of riving knife or splitter, nor have I found one made for it for anywhere near a reasonable price... So, I built my own. This guard was very easy to work with and very easy to modify for my needs. The vacuum hose attaches without any issues at all and it does a decent job with controlling the dust when making rip cuts. I have it attached in a way that it can be easily removed when using my sled or dato blade. It does have a small burr where the lower pieces of plastic meet that will need to be filed down to stop it from catching your workpiece. I like the fact that it covers my blade, but it is clear so I can still see what is going on underneath when making a cut. Will this fit directly on your saw?? Probably not. You will need to modify the fit for your specific needs. I DO recommend this item! and I would purchase again should the need arise. ... show more
