I replaced the corded remote on my forklift with this unit and it works great. I have the transmitter inside a metal case and zero transmission issues. It is very responsive and the remote automatically turns off with idle for a period of time which saves the battery.

    • Great Remote Easy Install
I bought this to replace a broken switch on my Badland winch. I also wanted the remote capability while loading and unloading my car. I didn't know if it would work but thought I would give it a try anyway. It was easier than I thought it would actually be. I took the switch handle apart which is on a 5 foot factory cable for the Badland and it had three female spade fittings into the switch. One wire was "IN", another wire was "OUT" and the third was "Power". I cut the ends off of the remote wire and put a male spades on them and they pushed right into the three spades from the factory cable. I added the ground to the battery and everything worked perfectly. I can now stand back much further than needed and operate the winch. Fantastic ... show more

Good winch controller, have been installed on a Honda pioneer 1000 with a warn factory winch. Works great, easy install, hasn’t ever lost connection, still going strong over a year and lots of use!

    • Never work when you need them
Suffers from 2 big design flaws: 1. No indication of whether they are on or off, other than trying to use them 2. Less common battery that you need a screw driver to change The installation went well, and they worked initially. But when I needed the winch - and when you need a winch you NEED a winch - the batteries on both remotes were dead. Had to hunt down a small phillips head screwdriver to try to change the batteries, just to find that they take a battery I don't have laying around because it's just not a common type like AA or AAA, etc. Had to operate without remotes until I got the proper batteries. When I changed them, things seemed to work fine. I double and triple checked that I turned them off and thought that would be it....until the next time I needed the winch. Guess what? They didn't work again. This time when I changed the battery on one of them it still didn't work. So they're going in the garbage because they never work when I need them. DON'T BUY THESE IF YOU ACTUALLY NEED REMOTES TO WORK WHEN YOU NEED YOUR WINCH. ... show more

One of the remotes had a dead battery, so thats kinda lame, but aside from that, this works as it should. If you have one of the older generation harbor freight winches with the square relay box, there is actually a molded slot inside that this unit is designed to fit into. Saw someone in a review somewhere mentioned that this controller doesn't stop immediately when you release the button, and after I tested it, I found that was not the case, and it does turn off as soon as you release the button. ... show more

    • My application needed different ends on the wires.
This came with ring-style connectors on the wires and my application needed insulated spade connectors. It took all of about 5 minutes to change them. In my case, the control unit fit perfectly under the main electrical cover. This works great. Just make sure that you read the instructions for the wireless remotes. They require you to hold the power button for 3 seconds for the controller to work. They also shut off automatically after a certain time period. This is a great safety feature and battery saver. I can see how some people could not get them to work, though. AGAIN...READ THE INSTRUCTIONS. The remotes have a good range and are small enough to fit in a pocket yet, large enough not to get lost easily. ... show more

    • As good and much cheaper than HF wireless controller. Fits into slots on the HF cover.
Worked great on HF Badlands 9500. This winch has a slot in the cover for a wireless receiver to be secured and it fit right in there. I did have to cut the terminal ends off the ground and in/out wires. Icrimped on piggy back connectors and installed and tested. Got the polarity right the first time! I then landed the "wired" remote plug onto the piggy backs and everything works. Easy job, and took all of 20 minutes taking my time. ... show more

    • Didn’t Work With My 2019 Dump Trailer
I tried using this wireless remote on a 2019 dump trailer since it works similar to a winch remote but for me it did not work it might have been my setup but it never worked on my trailer so just keep that in mind before buying it the quality also felt pretty cheap overall it did not work for my use
