πŸš€ Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

The greenhouse kit has received mixed reviews from users. While some were dissatisfied with the durability of the structure, particularly in trying weather conditions, others found the kit lived up to expectations when additional supports were installed. Several reviewers highlighted issues with the instructions but noted that mechanically inclined users might navigate them just fine. The company received praise for its responsive customer service, with multiple instances of a replacement being promptly sent in case of any damage.

Pros

  • πŸ’Ό The greenhouse kit is an affordable alternative to building.
  • πŸ₯‡ Many customers praised the company for their prompt customer service and willingness to resolve issues.
  • 🌱 The greenhouse performs well, providing sufficient space for plants when assembled correctly.

Cons

  • 🌬️ The structure might struggle under heavy winds and snow, especially without extra supports.
  • πŸ”© The kit's pipes are reportedly thin and might collapse under tightened screws or snowfall.
  • πŸ“ƒ Many users found the instructions unclear and tricky to navigate.

Should I Buy It?

Whether or not to purchase this greenhouse kit largely depends on your specific needs and environment. If you live in an area prone to heavy winds or snowfall, the product might not hold up without additional supports. However, for those in calmer climates and particularly for mechanically inclined users, this kit could offer a cost-effective solution for greenhouse needs. Always consider the somewhat challenging assembly instructions before purchase.

  • Highly recommend
We live in Colorado. Some may not realize how windy it is here (ok, not as crazy as MANY places!), but we have pretty steady winds of 30mph during the summer months, and regularly we have gusts of 60+. I will start by saying (as with any product in the wind) you CAN NOT anchor the cover down. I know it's tempting, no one wants the sides blowing up 5' off the ground, but if you can resign yourself to being ok with it, you may, too, survive the summer. The frame was not super easy to assemble, but honestly, I don't think we've ever had an "easy" time on project stating "some assembly required." Pay attention to the photos on the Amazon listing, they are better than what we received (what is it with instructions anymore?? Was someone sued for giving good instructions and so now every manufacturer in the world gives the vaguest possible ones??). HOWEVER! It is steel, a HUGE plus and the difference maker on a greenhouse. We dug our base layer into the ground a couple inches (which lowered the 6' 7" clearance, but, peace of mind is worth something!) On the cover, we used the Velcro straps to attach the cover to the frame and that was it. When it got windy the windows would all fly open and when it got REALLY windy the whole cover would come up off the ground several feet, but it survived! During the day we would lay 4"x4"s on the sides to keep critters out, and then the wind would roll them right off when it needed to "breathe." Critters stayed out, we got our lettuce (yes, it grew ALL summer!), kale, corn (right down the middle, our sweet corn did perfect), beans, tomatoes, cucumbers, cantaloupe, strawberries, etc. to grow fantastic all through the summer. We let the temps get to about 100-110 before we had flowers, then we opened it up. When everything was flowering we opened it by 8AM allowing for the pollinators to freely enter. We then zipped it up before the sun went down each day. It was like a jungle in there! At the end of summer we started our winter crop of wheat, more lettuce, kale, broccoli and garlic. In Dec, a freak windstorm with winds over 80mph hit our city, took down huge 2'+ diameter trees all over our neighborhood and knocked out power for 3 days. Well, out greenhouse cover did not survive. I was so sad, but I notified the company to see if I could purchase a replacement cover from them and they responded SO quickly (less than a day on every email that I sent). They asked for photos of the damage and apologized for the defective cover (it was NOT defective and I told them so, but they still treated it as if it was!) and they sent out a new one which came in about 3 days time. I am so incredibly impressed with this company. We were looking at purchasing a couple new more solid structures for costing many thousands of dollars for this year's growing season, but after my experience with these guys I ordered a second one from them instead! I cannot express how highly I recommend this company. ... show more

  • Nice greenhouse kit.
Now I don't understand why everyone is having issues assembling this greenhouse, because I assemble it SOLO in 2.5 hours, and the only reason it took that long, was because I wasn't in a hurry. I did ask for help putting the cover on,so I didn't tear it anywhere, but other than that 5 minutes of assistance, I did assemble this by myself. Read the directions... then re-read the directions. Before you start, take inventory to ascertain that you have all the parts... now, assembling the frame seemed very straight forward to me, but I personally decided to wrap all the bolts with electrical tape for 2 reasons: to keep the little plastic bolt covers on, and to (theoretically) protect the cover from snagging on ANYTHING. This is not mentioned in the directions, and seemed intuitive to me, but MAKE SURE you have all the bolts pointing in, to prevent snagging/rips/tears. I also bought some 18 inch rebar stakes to tie it down. They're shaped like a shepherds crook (candy cane), so the hook part goes over the bar, and holds it down tightly. I also used some heavy paracord type rope, and ran 3 anchor lines over the top, securing the ends with more rebar stakes. I used 16 stakes altogether, and a package of 20 stakes were like $40, but the greenhouse was almost $200, so I don't mind spending a bit more to help protect it. Also, as you can see, I bought 12- 60lb bags of tube sand to help hold down the edges. If Mother Nature wants my greenhouse, she's going to have to send a tornado πŸŒͺπŸ™„! So far, I'm impressed with the quality/sturdiness, and ease of assembly, and I gave it 5 stars on that alone, but the jury's still out on the durability factor πŸ€”. All in all, as this greenhouse was top of the list in a top 10 Google search, seems well made, and sturdy, went together easily, Ican say YES I recommend it, and YES, if I need another one at some point, I'd happily buy it again.πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘ŠπŸΌπŸ˜Žβ˜•οΈ ... show more

  • A monster to put together!
My wife and I (ages 70 and 68) bought this 20x10x6.6 greenhouse because our outside potted plants have increased in numbers exponentially and we have had good luck with this manufacturers smaller greenhouses. First off I was expecting this one to easily fit together with the same type snap-lock poles like the smaller ones, but noooooo, this greenhouse comes with a gazillion bolts and nuts that have to be fitted and screwed together like the old Erector sets! For an old retired guy and his wife, that proved to be quite a chore. After several hours over 2 days we finally got the frame together. Putting the cover on was a piece of cake thank goodness! My only issue with that is it only comes with velcro tabs to hold the cover in place at the very ends and none to keep it stable through the center. I guess we will see how that works out over the winter. One of the pole sections came miss-cut in length and cut off the holes where a bolt should go through. I put in a request to replace it and the manufacturer responded immediately, so I assume that I will receive a new pole section at some point. I redrilled the section so that I could go ahead and use the one I received, at least short term, it's a little shorter but seems OK for now. I'm going to drive 18" rebar into the ground and strap this thing down real good, plus put bricks along the bottom edge to keep the cold out. I also will put in 2 electric tower heaters that should keep everything above 45 degrees all winter. Everyone needs to understand that any greenhouse will reach temps inside to match the temps outside unless you have some sort of heating unit. Just physics. Anyway, I'm ok with this greenhouse at the start, plenty of room for dozens of large potted trees and plants. We'll see how it holds up over the winter and worry about the ordeal of taking it back down in the spring when it gets here! Update: A new replacement pole arrived at my door in 3 days! Very good customer service! ... show more
