This is by far my favorite protein bar I've tried. It does not have any synthetic taste at all like some. It really does taste like a light lemon cake and not too sweet. A favorite flavor of others in the house, but not me. I find it too sweet, and the "itols" and high fiber content cause me an over-abundance of flatulence. So, I'll only eat any of the Quest bars when I know I'm not leaving the house. Although, I do like the taste and convenience of the bar. I love love love Quest bars for their nutritional and protein content, but most of the flavors are so cloyingly sweet, I can't deal with them on a regular basis. This is why I keep on coming back to the Lemon Cake flavor. It's still sweet, but not overly so. It doesn't have any coating, for one. (The "drizzle" on top of the bar is just part of the shape.) And rather than "chocolaty" chips, it's got pieces of crust-like stuff, to mimic a cake I suppose. I eat Quest bars often. Usually one a day, either for breakfast or a snack. Very handy to keep in my purse or luggage, more filling than one would expect. I love the protein kick as well. I would LOVE if Quest made more bars in this vein, instead of trying to replicate the latest chocolate-coconut-fudge-cookie dough concoction to go viral on Instagram. Gingersnap flavor, maybe? These have a nice lemon cake taste and low carb protein bar. I also like their white chocolate raspberry and the chocolate mint and the brownie. Bought a variety pack also so could try bunch of flavors.
