These are pretty good! Densely packed, nutrient rich MEALS. Not flimsy little snack or protein bars. But actual meals. Further down in review I include the ingredients for EACH PRO MEAL BAR Purchased 07/2022 (and another box nearly right away that I am waiting on because I loved it with first bite), with expiry date of 01/2023. I ordered from the warehouse, and so it was expected that these may have a shorter time frame over others ordered direct. Curious what the ones I am waiting on to arrive will say. I will update this if it is totally different. I chuckle at the one review where it cautions that these are "double size and calories of other bars". Well, YAY! that sounds good to me! I am spending good money for CALORIES. And they are calories from good ingredients. "This PROBAR provides fruits, nuts and seeds to make it delicious, satisfying and nutritious. It's rich in raw ingredients and the right nutrient-dense calories for lasting energy and nourishment." Natural tasting, not too sweet, can taste various ingredients, not like a candy bar, not just a protein bar, has fats, protein, fiber, carbohydrates, and a good hearty, dense, chew. Easy to chew, though that will depend on your teeth. I like the flavor- it isnt scrumptious, but it tastes like something I would construct at home, but better. LOOK at all these wonderful ingredients. If you need a candy bar taste, then skip these. I use them on the go, a bite here and there. Tastes doesnt linger, not sticky or annoying. Not dry. Just perfect level moist. I can bend off a piece and pop into my mouth. Wraps back up nicely. The nutritional information is on each packet. They provide info for eating whole or half a bar. I work a physical job where it is hard to sit down and eat, but I get hungry, and so I rely on snack bars and such to power me through. What I like about this is that it has a variety of nutrients. It isnt just a basic snack bar, or an overpriced, over caloried protein bar. I feel like I am actually eating something good for me. Pairs nice with some cut up fruit, yogurt (chop part of the bar up to sprinkle on top). Sometimes I add in a soft beef jerky/stick. Looks like this brand has a bunch of interesting products such as crisps, chews, energy bars, protein bars, and these meal bars. Has piqued my interest! Also good as an emergency food (keep in car, or even for in house), camping, traveling, hiking, etc I originally found these while looking for a food item to put in with my "bug out bag" and car emergency bag. I have a couple of rodent proof containers that I store some easy to eat food items in. I rotate out and replace as needed. Not limited to emergency but also for times when I just cant get somewhere for food. I pack packets of peanut butter, packets of jam, and then add in snack bars and/or dried fruit. Going for a GORP-esque arrangment (good old raisins and peanut butter). I look for something with good mouth feel, taste, and offers nutrition. I stumbled upon these and thought they looked like what I was going for. Now that I have tried them (love that they offer a variety pack), I will buy more of the ones I love, and will be using them for my everyday life, not just for prepping my car, hiking bag, bug out bag. This variety pack has ONE EACH of their variety pack. Try them all, buy more of what you like best or buy another variety pack if you like them all. Really great way to be introduced to the MEAL offerings. Would love to see a sample or variety pack of all their stuff. Anyway, I just dont see anything wrong with these. Comes down to preference, and then individual experience as it pertains to freshness, shipping etc. I dont know why they dont include the nutrition info on the product page. They do for individual listings, but not for the variety. They do the same thing on their website. But it is very easy to navigate and find the info you may want. I include the ingredient list. If you want more detailed nutritional profile, look for the individual product (or go to their website). I really liked the previous version of this bar. I'm not sure exactly when it changed, but honestly this version is almost as good. Taste is great with lots of plant-based protein (gluten free is a big plus). I'd say this is more of a meal replacement than just a protein bar. Richard's Ratings: When I received my Variety Pack of ProBars I raced to get the box off the porch and ripped open the Amazon box and then the Variety Pack! Excited to try the Blueberry Muffin before my wife could get home and interfere. I knew she would want half as we had discussed how this was definitely a flavor we wanted to try. Well, I may be exaggerating somewhat. However, it is true that there were 3 or 4 bars that we wanted to try and I had looked at the picture to see what flavors came in the Variety Pack and Blueberry was at the top of this short list. We were disappointed that it wasn't there. In it's place though, we found Mocha Almond Fudge, which I think is likely to be a big hit. Along with this pack, we also bought a pack of the Banana Nut Bread ProBars. She had tried these at work and thought they were GREAT! I didn't expect to like these as much as she did, but was pleasantly surprised that it was quite good. Also, why is the expiration date hiding under the flap on the Variety Pack while the date is more conveniently printed on the bars from the box of Banana Nut Bread bars. And yes, those are both Banana Nut Bread bars in the picture. Oh, and while I'm being picky - when am I not. Why do I have to pull the overlapping flap up out of the way in order to see the ingredients and that a serving is considered only a half of a bar. Oh sure, you bet :) We decided to rate the bars from the Variety Pack with a score of 1 to 5 as we try them. 1 for least good and 5 for most good. Our taste ratings are complete for all of these now. We tried them in the order that I thought we would like them. Interestingly, it didn't turn out to be our preference all that way through, but the one we tried last did turn out to be one of only two that we both gave a five: ProBar: Her Rating - My Rating / Comment Original Trail Mix: 4 - 2 / This is the first one that I tried. She likes it much more than I do. Superberry & Greens: 4 - 3 / Rated higher than expected. Superfruit Slam: 4 - 3 / Rated higher than expected. Wholeberry Blast: 2 - 1 / We wouldn't buy this again. Superfood Slam: 1 - 1 / The lowest combine rating of the ProBars - Yuck. I'm sure taste isn't everything. :) Almond Cashew Crunch: 3 - 3 / Hey! The first that we agree on. In the middle of our scale, we would probably not buy a box of these, but would eat it if it was the last one on the shelf. Which, in this case it was. :] Peanut Butter: 4 - 4 / Good tasting bar that we will might buy again by the box. Banana Nut Bread: 5 - 4 / This is the bar that got us started on ProBars. She had been buying them at work and loves it. She gave it a 5. It does't taste much like your mom's banana nut bread - I've never really been a fan of mom's banana nut bread. As a matter of fact, I don't much care for nuts in breads, but I liked this bar better than I thought I would and gave it a 4. Oatmeal Chocolate Chip: 4 - 4 / Agreement again! Buy by the box! Chocolate Coconut: 5 - 5 / Our first pair of 5s. This tastes like a health version of one of our favorite candy bars. Mocha Almond Fudge: 4.5 - 3.5 / She had to have a fractional rating for this. I followed with one of my own just 'cause. I wouldn't buy a box of these, but she might. Oh what a dilemma! :| :) Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip: 5 - 5 / This was expected to be the best bar in my ordered list. Indeed, we agreed that it was a 5. Will surely get a box on our next order from Amazon. The Blueberry Muffin has a story of its own. A friend in a nearby town told us that a popular local quick stop chain has these. We checked 5 locations in our town and they had 5 boxes of 6 different bars depending on the store, but not one Blueberry Muffin was discovered. She took matters into her own hands and ordered an entire box of these from Amazon. So the ratings are in: Blueberry Muffin: 3 - 4 / Yup. Sort of anticlimactic, I guess. This one goes into the probably wouldn't by a box group. Just for the record: I would like to see a better breakdown of the fats in the bar. Details regarding Mono-unsaturated Polyunsaturated fats would be nice. We can assume that there are some in these good fats in these bars, but the details would be nice. The real and diverse ingredients are impressive. For me, I could have gone with about 30-50% less sugar. But conusmers as a whole expect a sweet taste so I understand. This review comes from a person that eats plain oatmeal daily. All the seeds and fruits make it taste fresh and healthy. For portable nutrition, this bar is a great way to take care of your body.
