Upon receiving BOTH boxes of parts for the Murphy bed, one had severe damage to the outside and subsequently the wood pieces inside were also damaged (top of the cabinet was warped and also had smashed corners). We were in the process of moving, and despite the damage, were not able to reach out to Amazon until after the return window had expired. We ended up having to contact the manufacturer directly. We had THE BEST experience. They were super responsive and compensated us for the damage, instructed us to keep it, and provided ideas for how we could repair the damage. Despite the damage (which was caused by FedEx, not the manufacturer) we were able to assemble and hopefully still functionally use the furniture. It is not exactly what we wanted because of the damage, but there is no better seller to work with and overall, I would repurchase. ... show more

I was surprised to see that this is real solid wood and not particle board. It went together fairly easily for a one person assembly. Seams very sturdy. We haven't had enough guests to use the bed yet but i am confident that it will hold up fine. One note, it does not come with a mattress. My recommendation is to use the money you save buying this cabinet to spring for a really good tri-fold mattress. ... show more
