Very thick, fluffy mattress. I'd call it firm-soft because it is very solid, but very conforming. Since getting this bed a week ago my back pain has vastly improved, and I've slept better. I was nervous about spending that kind of money on a mattress, but I think it was well worth the price.

The media could not be loaded. I moved to a new house and bought a lot of new things, a new bed and a new mattress. This is my son's room. Because it is a bottom bunk, I really want a thick mattress. This is what I expected and the quality. Very good and very comfortable

This arrived in a long rectangular box, rolled up in plastic. My husband carried it upstairs by himself, but a smaller person might have a problem and need more than one person (he's pretty fit and ripped). It basically unrolls itself once you cut the plastic and the air starts filling it. Rolls out flat and nice and it says to let it sit for 72 hours before using which is interesting, but also ok for us as my daughter is out of town for a few days, so it works. I'm not sure if you need a box spring, but we are using it on one, since we have it. The mattress is NOT as soft as I expected for a memory foam, but for the pricepoint, I guess in hindsight, that is to be expected. We'll be adding a memory foam pad to this, but it does have a nice spring and firmness to it for the price point.
