Okay, I will be the first to admit that I was skeptical about a "mattress in a box" and how it can REALLY be that nice and comfortable. So happy I was proven wrong. My prior mattress was a Simmons Beautyrest Pillow top that I've had for I don't know how long. I've always used a waterproof mattress pad so the mattress itself looks almost brand new. Being that it's a pillow top, you can't flip it but you can turn it. My nephew was needing a new mattress so I gave him my Simmons for this Curelia. When it arrived, I was like "Yeah, this is not going to be good!". However, once I got it unpacked, it uncoiled to a full queen size mattress in front of my eyes. There are warning to be careful because when it starts to unfurl, it has a mind of its own until it's done. Once fully extended, it fit perfectly with my bed frame. The only difference between this one and my existing is this one is not as thick due to it not having as large of a top surface so my fitted sheets require more tucking at the bottom. Also, if you sit on the edge, there isn't as much support so it sinks a little more than my prior one. I've slept on this thing for several nights and the first night took some getting used to but the second night was amazing. The individual coils seem to slightly conform to your body, providing support everywhere. For the first two nights I could "feel" the coils but by the third night, I did not notice them. The instructions tell you that the bed will continue to rebound from 24 to 72 hours once it has been unboxed. It also says it dissipates excess heat and sweat but I do not find that to be the case but I'm guessing that's due to my mattress topper. I have a cat and had several dogs in the past so having a topper on my mattress is a must. Plus, it just makes the mattress surface last longer. I'm really happy with this mattress now that it's been broken in. My cat does not seem to care one way or the other.

I’ve been using this Curelia 12" queen hybrid mattress for a few weeks now, and it has exceeded my expectations for a mattress-in-a-box. The mattress arrived tightly rolled in a rectangular box and was heavier than I expected, which was actually reassuring. The unboxing process was well thought out—there are multiple layers of protective wrap, so you can position it on your bed before allowing it to fully expand. Once the final layer was removed, it expanded quickly, though I let it sit for a full 24 hours as recommended. In terms of comfort, I’d describe the firmness as medium-firm leaning slightly firm, which works well for my preference. It provides solid support without feeling too stiff. The pocket spring system does a great job keeping the mattress stable, and I’ve noticed minimal motion transfer when sharing the bed that actually helps with the sleep quality. Edge support is also noticeably strong—I can sit on the side without it collapsing much. The top layer has a cool, breathable feel, and I haven’t experienced any heat buildup during the night. The fabric and stitching look well-made, and overall the construction feels comparable to mattresses you’d find in traditional retail stores. After nearly a month of use, I haven’t run into any issues with comfort or durability. Considering the quality, ease of setup, and overall performance, this mattress offers excellent value. This mattress is firmer than I normally prefer, but I was honestly surprised by how comfortable it feels overall—especially considering the price point. Once I adjusted to the medium-firm feel, it offered a really supportive and stable sleeping surface that still has enough cushioning to be comfortable. The hybrid design does a nice job balancing the pocketed springs with the foam layers. You can feel the underlying support, but the top pillow-style layer helps take the edge off the firmness so it doesn’t feel overly rigid. It contours well enough to relieve pressure points without sinking too deeply. One of the standout features is the motion isolation. It does a good job minimizing movement transfer, which makes it a solid option for couples or light sleepers. The edge support also feels dependable, giving the mattress a more solid, structured feel when sitting or getting in and out of bed. It did take a little time to fully adjust, especially coming from softer mattresses, but after a few nights it became noticeably more comfortable. It also feels breathable and doesn’t trap too much heat, which adds to the overall sleep quality. Overall, this is a well-made, budget-friendly hybrid mattress that delivers strong support and better-than-expected comfort. For just under $200 on sale, this is a great value for a traditional hybrid coil-spring pillow-top mattress. Setup was easy, construction seems solid, and the mattress provides moderately firm support. There was mild off-gassing when opened, but it was brief and not a major issue. It is not a luxury mattress, and the coil density is lower than what you would find in more expensive models, but in actual use that was not very noticeable. The biggest weakness is edge support, which is on the softer side with moderate sinkage if you sit or lie close to the edge. For the price, though, it performs very well. Pros: ✔ Easy setup ✔ Good construction for the price ✔ Moderate firm support ✔ Hybrid coil + foam pillow-top feel ✔ Mild off-gassing that resolved quickly ✔ Excellent value under $200 on sale Cons: ✖ Edge support is soft ✖ Moderate sinkage near the edges ✖ Lower coil density than higher-end models Conclusion: A strong budget hybrid mattress that feels much better than the sale price suggests. It is not premium, and the soft edge support is the main drawback, but for a guest room, spare room, or lower-cost primary mattress, it is easy to recommend. 4.5/5
