The instructions were minimal and it was missing a screw. The box was heavily taped but I didn’t think anything of it because it was very heavy. However when we opened it the screws just fell out of the box instead of being sealed in the package that was inside the box. The package was marked to clearly identify the location of each size but since they were loose, we couldn’t tell which screws went where and one was missing. That caused us to have to try them in different places until we figured out where they went and to have to go purchase a replacement screw, as I didn’t want to wait to have one shipped. It works as intended but I paid for a new item and got one that was obviously returned by someone else. That makes me unhappy.

This is edited because to be fair, the smell did go away after leaving the pieces outside on the porch for several hours. So I decided to put it together and the directions aren’t great but it is pretty simple to figure out. Might need a bit of trial and error to make sure the direction of the pieces are correctly oriented, but seemed solid once it was done. For something that’s supposed to be next to your head, the smell of the metal once I opened the box was insane.

Spent 2 hours assembling and troubleshooting. The Queen 79.5" dimension is slightly too large by at least 1/2". We scratched our brand-new Pottery Barn bed frame trying to get it to fit. That plus the wasted time of repacking, returning, and shopping for another solution cost us hours and frustration.
