Like any humidor you will need to upgrade it's humidifier and higromiter, they are not part of this rating. Higromiter is useless but looks good. I have added xikar higromiter and cristal humidifiers You get exactly what you hope for with this box. There are imperfections with the finish of the outside of box and you can see that the Spanish cedar is only a thin vanier on the inside, but it does the job. The aroma is quite low (spanish cedar is ideal because of its low odar) similar to humidor cabinets priced at $6000. The design of a chest is not the most practical for everyday use and like all humidor ratings you won't fit 400 cigars. But for the price you can't beet this humidor. This box is ideal for long term storage as the bottom of the box which is harder to access has a lower humidity, say 65% - 68% which is perfect for aging. The top two layers have keep a perfect 70 70 reading and I've used it mutable times every day since i have had it. And it is in the middle of a hot summer here. The seal is great, the lock works, it feels nice and solid. Shipping was more than a week ahead of scheduled for international delivery. It has a very strong hinge. Well recomended if you want to store a large amount for cheap.

I really like this Humidor. First, it's big. Second, it's not that expensive. Opening the lid for the first time filled the house with a nice aroma of spanish cedar. Looking inside, everything appeared relatively well constructed, which is always a consideration on import items of any kind much less humidors. The two shelves were sturdy and well constructed. The outside finish was about what I expected. It wasn't anything to write home about in terms of absolute quality, but there were no flaws. Again, if you want high end burled walnut or real top flight veneers or solid woods, stop shopping in the bargain basement. But it's attractive for what it is. There is ample room in the lower portion for a number of boxes of varying size. Where there isn't room for boxes, the trays have quite a capacity for singles. I will be honest though, after seasoning the entire box, I pretty much tossed the crappy hygrometer and humidifiers it came with. I keep them around, but they are what they are. For approximately $20 I bought a good digital hygrometer that fits in the same spot and is much more accurate without all the guesswork. Additionally, I laced the interior with several tubes of DryMistat throughout. Those two additions keep the humidor at a very consistent 69% RH, which is good for me. My advice is to buy the box. It smells good, has decent construction, and does what it is supposed to do. Spend a few extra bucks on upgrades and you will be VERY happy with the performance.

First I want to give cudos to SportsmanSavings who sent this to me. The shipping to an APO AP address was fast. Most shippers cheap out on larger items like this to my address and it takes about 45 days to arrive. Not SportsmanSavings who got it to me in under 7 days. Now for the product. It is deep with two trays. Holds boxes of cigars in the deepwell and loose cigars in the trays. As with all humidors they never hold the stated capacity due to differing cigar sizes and boxes if you store boxes. I currently have almost 300 in this humidor and it is full. If my boxes were perfectly shaped to fit the space then I am sure it would hold the rated 400 but we all know the capacity ratings are under optimal cigars sizes, not varying. The seasoning only took 4 days. My method of seasoning a new humidors differs from many - my personal preference. For this humidor I placed 3 heavily dampened paper towels in the very bottom sitting on two zip lock bags - bags were stacked two high to reduce potential condensation build up under them. Notice I said sitting on NOT in. I never wipe the interior down with anything as I believe it is unnecessary and increases the risk for damage. After the first day the towels were almost dried out so I rewetted them and placed them back in - humidity level 82% with towels in - waited 30 minutes with towels out and it dropped to 61%. The second day the towels were still moist but I rewetted them again anyway - humidity 87% - after wait 68%. The third day the towels were still very moist did not rewet - humidity 93% - after wait 71%. Took the towels out, charged the two supplied humidifiers with Xikar Propylene Glycol 70% solution. The fourth day reading a steady 70%. Filled with box cigars and loose in the trays. Checked on day five and the filled humidor is till reading 70%. Great humidor and looks good too. NOTES: the supplied hygrometer was very inaccurate - I used Xikar Digital instead. The wetting of the paper towels was done with distilled water. My home RH ranged from 20%-58% and ambient temps were 71-79F.
