    • Rubber mounting pads on clamp shift over time
There are rubber pads on the clamping mechanism that, over time, have shifted from their proper position, and it can cause the whole arm to lean, or possibly fall off where it's mounted if you don't catch it. This probably isn't an issue if you are pulling the arm over the table that it's mounted to but in my case I'm pulling the arm away from the mounting table, in the way depicted on the product image. The arm itself isn't exactly the quietest when moving around, and the noise gets picked up in my HyperX QaudCast but for the price of this compared to other arms that are probably smoother it's acceptable to just mute the mic when I'm moving it. ... show more

    • Cheap...effective...but lacks the details needed to become a "great stand."
Very lightweight stand. It feels pretty cheap, but it does the job for being a microphone stand. I won't give it a bad score because I know it's a budget stand, it is my first one, and it solves my current problem. But...I will get a different stand in the future. This microphone lacks a perpendicular fastener to tighten on the radial plane for the support holding the microphone unit itself. Most good microphones are cardioid (layman's definition for "having one side be for input"). This means you'd need the mic to face a certain way to work properly. I tightened the radial screw as best as I could to hold this radial plane, but the lack of a perpendicular fastener to hold this tightness leaves me with the only option of adjusting the radial screw. This means I have to loosen my screw a bit to get my microphone to where it needs to be. If I loosen the grip anymore on my stand, my microphone will sag and audio will suck. If I tighten the radial screw another rotation further, I'll probably break the stand because...it feels cheap. Cheap...effective...but lacks the details needed to become a "great stand." ... show more

I would like a mounting plate offered or included for glass. Would make a big difference. But seems steady and the mic is able to be fixed into position. Seems good. Some wire hoops running the length of the arm would be nice. Maybe fab some up myself. I do think in the future I'd get the next level up from this one tho. ... show more

This mic stand was purchased as an afterthought in complete honesty, I grabbed one of the cheaper mic stands after realizing that I was in fact going to need one. I was pleasantly surprised by this stand tho, it is definitely not a super high end stand as it's a little stiff to move as it is all just springs and metal joints, however it keeps my microphone in place even when I accidentally jostle it. Biggest complaint is if you angle the mic up or down in a certain way for some reason it also leans a little to the side? Not sure why it does that, it isn't a big deal just looks weird to me. ... show more
