Using a little heat will help the tape stick better. I cut some strips and placed them on pressure treated wood stairs. The stairs were completely dry and I used a piece of scotch brite to sand off any loose debris. I used a brush to clean off any dust before applying the grip tape. Has good grip but the glue doesn’t keep it held down to whatever you put it on very well. I used this on my AMP auto step boards on my truck and it only lasted about a week before it started to peel up so I had to use some spray on adhesive to get it to stay down.

I bought this because my dog kept slipping down our porch steps, which are composite material and gray in color. Every time we took him out we had to keep the leash tight so he didn't slide down. I cut 10" strips just to do one portion of one side all the way down. I also did our back porch steps which was same deal. This product cut easily with decent scissors and has good adhesion. If you're going to do an entire step longwise I would say to get a little longer roll as it doesn't go as far as you would think and then you have some leftover if any of it peels up later. This tape was not very good. It did not stick well where installed. Had to use staples to secure it. The only positive was the anti slip area. This was a waste of money. This product was used on a handicap ramp to supposibly make it safer. Some strips adhered somewhat. Most stayed in place because of the staples used on each strip.
