THESE ARE AMAZING!!! I am in the process of remodeling my entire home. I wanted to soundproof every room since our children are getting older now, I wanted everyone to be able to have their own quiet and restful place to call their own. I ordered these and when they arrived, I was shocked at how BIG and HEAVY these were! My contractor used them for both under the tile - he laid it directly on the subfloor, and then laid this cork, and then placed Hardy Backer Board down before he tiled, and you could not even hear one footstep in the rooms below!!! This worked out so well, that I ordered more, and my contractor used glue to adhere these to the back of the drywall (while they were laying on the ground) before he put up the drywall. In combination with Rock Wool Insulation, all of our rooms are as soundproof as can be! It is unbelievable that these are included in Prime Shipping! They shipped even shipped them to Hawaii!!! I did a lot of research before ordering these, and I could not be happier with the way these performed! They come in 1 continuous roll, so my contractor could easily cut them to whatever length he was working with. If you are on the fence, don't be! Order them! I bought this as a cheaper and easier to install alternative to plywood and I am SO HAPPY I did. My husband and I installed 3 full rolls in about 2 hours. We used a staple gun to keep it in place and I also got seam tape (both from amazon). I can’t speak to how it will be under the floors but I can only assume it will be good. Amazon has a recommendation to comment on adhesion, but this cork underlayment doesn't seem to be designed for adhering to anything. This worked well for what I needed it to be, which was an insulator between a cement slab and my flooring. It did rip a little when I tried to make a cut and flipped it opposite the way it was rolled. I liked the product and would use it again if needed. ... show more

    • Great for floor underpayment
Great for floor underpayment. It helps produce a quieter and warmer floor. I have been told it is not needed under wood but we decided to use it under a 3/4" solid maple tongue and groove floor and I have no regrets. One unexpected benefit was when kneeing on the floor it was kind of nice on the knees. We also use floor adhesive under the cork though I suppose that is optional. And we tacked it down with swing hammers so that it would stay rolled out on the subfloor. It is a bit brittle so care has to be used to not break it with rough handling. ... show more

product seems to be pretty good, the packaging not so much. damage to the first couple of thlcknesses on the ends. Not a product issue as much as packaging and handling.

    • Very nice under hardwood flooring
I bought this to place under hardwood flooring in a second floor condo. Noise is a real issue in condos and I was hoping that this would help to dampen the foot thumping and airborne noise (music, talking, etc). This cork has to be glued to the subfloor, and then the bamboo is glued on top. So, you need to have a solid cork layer with tight seams between pieces. This product comes in rolls. I think it seems very solid. My installers said they prefer the individual 2ft x 3ft sheets, but I think this would be easier to work with because there are fewer seams to deal with. ... show more

This is very good cork. I bought it to try and level a low spot on a concrete floor before I lay the wood laminate flooring. If your low areas are consistent, this may work.i have a low dip in the middle of the floor and a fairly large slope toward the outside wall. This cork did not work for me. However this was an operator problem, NOT fault of the cork. It is a nice hefty roll of cork. The edges are straight and the whole roll is a consistent thickness. I will need to find a different solution for my flooring issues but, I see a lot of people getting very nice cork bulletin boards for Christmas and birthdays. ... show more

Great product. Only complaint is that one of the rolls had a small hole/peace knocked out. I'm a 5'4" female and was able to work with the rolls by myself. Once unrolled, the cork lay mostly flat. Very easy to cut and work with. The thickness was just right and it made our wood floors feel nicely cushioned and warm. Overall, very satisfied. ... show more
