I am a musical theater student in NYC and this is perfect for recording audition songs and class assignments. My only complaint is that I had to buy two extra pieces that I wasn't expecting to need so I wasn't able to use the microphone as soon as I got it. Otherwise, I love the size and sound created and will get a ton of use out of this for sure!

This mic does a great job picking up the low end parts of my voice that other mics do not. Comes in a cool carry case to help keep it protected which is a huge bonus. If using in a room with a lot of reverb from walls I would definitely put the foam windscreen on it. It uses phantom power, so you will need to make sure your mixing board or audio interface has that option. By removing the little adapter piece designed for boom arm I was able to get it onto a traditional mic stand which worked out nicely for me. All in all I think this is probably the best option in this price range.

To connect to your computer you will need 48v phantom power, that still on the way, but plugging it in to xlr connection on my speakers the audio quality is loud and quality.

This microphone is a professional level large diaphragm condenser microphone. As a point of comparison, I have an M-Audio Nova that I purchased about 20 years ago that has been my go-to mic for several vocal projects, such as singing and voiceover. This microphone has the same feel and sound profile and I can see myself using it interchangeably with the Nova as they both make my voice sound full and require little to no EQ or adjustments. The build quality is solid, made with all metal and it has a substantial feel when holding it. It will work best in a treated room as a condenser mic has far greater sensitivity than a dynamic mic and will pick up ambient room noise. I also recommend into looking to get a pop filter for plosives if you use this for vocal recording of any kind. In my recording tests, I found that it has an effective cardioid pattern to help eliminate sound behind the microphone. It also has low self-noise and even in a non-treated room, it handles ambient sounds very well. This microphone would be extremely effective for vocals as well as podcasts in a well-treated room. As with any non-USB condenser microphone, you will need to supply 48v phantom power to the microphone. The microphone comes in a hard case and includes a wind/noise filter, shock mount, 5/8" to 1/4" adapter, and soft cover case to further protect the microphone. Overall, this is a great-sounding microphone kit that provides a great value for both the recorded sound and the accessories that are included.
