UPDATED 3/6/2022: READ ME! Not as bad as people say! people just love to complain.
Color: Natural, Gloss Size: 35"
READ THIS IF YOU'RE CONSIDERING BUYING THIS GUITAR!!! I bought this used - very good for 45 bucks about a year ago. I probably would not pay full price, as much as I love it. That being said, IT IS NOT JUNK GIVE IT TIME! I swear half the people leaving negative reviews have no idea how guitars work. I am a full grown adult guitar player, and I've been playing since high school. I'm in college now, and I needed something small and light to travel with. I DON'T USE THIS AS MY EVERYDAY GUITAR! I reach for this guy if I'm messing around with chords, my fingers hurt from my metal strings, or I'm just trying to relax. It's great to practice on, but not so much if you're trying to actually play in front of people. Nylons aren't meant to be used like metal stringed acoustics, they're a separate instrument! It still works for that purpose, though, you can play the same exact songs and chords. If you tune it properly it gets the job done. Great for my college dorm or throwing in the car for a camping trip cus it's super light. Great to practice on when I don't feel like lugging my full sized acoustic around. This is a decent product for the price I PAID. Being a nylon string guitar, you have to stretch the strings and tune it quite a bit (2-4 days is recommended for the strings to settle - watch a youtube tutorial on how to do it) Furthermore, the plastic strings that everyone complains about are standard on a nylon. Heck, the C40 from Yamaha, well established nylon, has the same type (but higher quality, I bet) if I recall. They do go out of tune pretty frequently, especially at the start, but it's not even that much - just retune them! The tuner works well for me, but if you don't like it, just get an app like GuitarTuna. Now, for the guitar itself, it's what I expected when I bought it for 45 bucks, barely even damaged since I got a higher quality used (or less damaged I guess) version, and I have to say, it has really grown on me. Guitars are instruments, not toys. You can't give it to a kid and expect them to learn the ins and outs. If you really want them to learn guitar, buy them a cheap acoustic like a rogue or Yamaha, a C40 is a great nylon but you could also get them a metal string, and get them lessons! Find a music store near you, it might be a bit pricey but it's the best way to learn. Originally I recommended swapping the strings, but it's not worth it to be honest. I got it back in 2021 for 45 USD used, and I love it for what I use it for. If you're dead-set on a cheap starter guitar, or you want an affordable spare, grab this but follow my advice. If you really want to learn, shell out the extra money and buy a tried and true brand. For the full price, 80 bucks is not worth it. Get a rogue for that money. Anyway, that's my rant, hope this helps! (I even bumped my review up from 4 to 5 stars - when I first wrote it, it was 1 star because I didn't understand stretching the nylon strings - IT TAKES TIME! but I genuinely love this thing!) Enjoy! ... show more

20+ years playing - this is a fine instrument
Color: Black, Gloss Size: 35"
First off - this does not come set up in any way shape or form. If you are not familiar with guitars and buy this for a child please know that it's not a horrible instrument just because the strings come loose. The first thing I did is replace the strings - I got the nylon version and nylon strings are notorious for taking forever to stretch out to their final length. Another thing to be aware of - the guitar going out of tune with brand new strings is not the guitar's fault - that's just the nature of classical guitars and since it wasn't setup or tuned from the factory it's going to take a while after you get it for it to stay in tune because the strings are stretching out slowly. I pick the guitar right up by the strings and bounce it a bit to help stretch things out when I change nylon strings. Second, this is a 70 dollar guitar, manage your expectations. I have about 10 different stringed instruments in my possession in varying qualities. I've bought cheaper instruments when I was planning on spending a chunk of money because the cheaper instruments can sometimes play and sound much better. You don't need to spend a massive amount of money for a solid instrument - and frankly the Pyle brand is pretty excellent for the cost. I own a bunch of their microphones and they are pretty epic honestly. I've had people listen to my podcast and tell me how impressed they are with my sound quality and think I'm using 100$+ microphones - and I'm finding the same with the guitar quality. Good tuners, decent bridge, it's really not bad. The finish is not great though - if you are purchasing an instrument for aesthetics this probably isn't for you. They put some weird coating on the fret board that was already flaking off when I got it - though I bought this as a beater guitar so I really don't care. There was also cracking in the finish at the bottom of the guitar. None of this affects playability or sound - so I don't care. I bought some fun fret marker stickers since this doesn't have any inlays, and the new strings I bought are funky colors. It looks pretty awesome for the 90$ I spent in total with the strings and inlay stickers. It sounds good. It feels great in my hands. I can toss this one in the car or put it on the floor and I couldn't care less if it gets scratched - money well spent. ... show more

Decent Cheap Guitar, But I Returned For A Higher Quality Item
Color: Blue Burst, Gloss Size: 35"
Fair warning, I ended up returning this guitar. Got it as a warehouse deal, but it was much more damaged cosmetically than described. I've been playing guitar for a little over 6 months, and my other guitar is a steel string dreadnought. Not much experience with nylon strings. I'm definitely no expert, but these are my thoughts. Before returning I played with it for a while to test it out to see if I wanted to order a replacement. I decided against reordering and will likely purchase a classical guitar at a higher price point. That being said: Pro: took a little while to get it to stay in tune, but once it was it sounded pretty decent. I also liked the size, both depth and length. Much smaller than a standard guitar, as expected from the description. Strings were easy to play, compared to steel. Also, love the color pattern. Cons: warehouse deal said the packaging was damaged, but in this case the guitar was as well. Did not factor into my 3 star rating, as it's not a reflection of the product. If it hadn't been damaged, or had been at a lower price point I may have considered keeping it, but I likely would have returned for something a bit higher quality. Quality wise, you're buying a cheap guitar. All in all, it actually plays better than I expected it would. It's marketed for beginners, and I think this is due to the price. Just know, you get what you pay for. It may be frustrating for a new player to never be in tune, and thus not want to play. Not saying this is the case, I didn't play it long enough to know if that's an issue, but I did have to retune it quite a bit the short time I had it. If your budget is $60, and you can't find a used one, this probably isn't a bad choice. ... show more

Good value for money
Color: Brown Burst, Gloss Size: 36"
I bought the guitar for my son who is in 3rd grade of musical school - for practicing. It took 1-2 weeks for the strings to settle, and during that period you need to tune guitar every time you want to play, but that is the case with all string instruments. After that, guitar is ready, it has nice sound and for this price range I think is very good quality. I would recommend it for beginners ... show more

If you need a real cheap guitar, get this one!
Color: Blue Burst, Gloss Size: 35"
Before I say anything else about this guitar, please understand that there are A LOT of cheap guitars on Amazon, and most of them are of similar design to this one, which is to say that they are designed for nylon strings. Unfortunately most of them also have steel strings, which have a higher tension than nylon strings and can bow the neck excessively, and are harder to play with given the higher action of a nylon string guitar. I don't know why there are so many nylon string guitars strung with steel strings on Amazon, maybe the steel strings are cheaper or they sell better? Anyway, this is a cheap nylon string guitar with nylon strings. I couldn't find an instrument of that description or a proper steel string guitar any cheaper, that's why I got this one. This is a serviceable instrument. It arrived on time in perfect condition with all of the accessories in a tapered cardboard guitar box. It only has one strap button but it comes with a cord so you can tie one end of the strap to the head and still use it. The tuner is the first electric tuner I've had and it is really nice. The guitar sounds decent and it's easy to play. In the weeks since I've gotten it, it's been staying in tune longer, as is to be expected with new strings. I'm happy with my purchase. If you're looking to get a guitar then this may be your best choice at this price. Edit 11/22/2020: I'm still very happy with my purchase, it's a nice little guitar to practice on. But when I got it, it was quite a bit cheaper, and there may be cheaper nylon string guitars with nylon strings on Amazon at this point. Whether you get this or something else, make sure you get the right strings for it, and have fun! ... show more

Good starter guitar, ordered for my daughter.
Color: Natural, Gloss Size: 35"
For a junior size guitar, it is not a bad purchase. I bought it for my daughter (9) who never played before. Not knowing how she'd like it/use it, I didnt want to spend the money on an expensive instrument. Also wanted something that would be a good size, the size is perfect for her to handle. My biggest complaint is the quality (which is what to expect when you pay a cheaper price). with that said, i would have liked it to have shown a little more strenghts. the guitar shipped with almost no tension on the strings. (now i dont know if that is a con necessarily, but an observation). when trying to Tune the strings, the first time i struggled with the tuning knobs keeping tension. after fiddling around for a few extra minutes, all was good. Overall, it does lose its "tune" rather quickly. which depending on the user and their purpose may change the importance of that. I would say anyone who is seriously interested in learning the guitar should spend the money for something better. BUT anyone one sure or for a kid just getting their feet wet, this works great without breaking the bank on a gamble. ... show more

Belongs in a dollar store; will teach children to hate music
Color: Blue Burst, Gloss Size: 35"
There are multiple crimes this product has committed: 1) The tuning keys detune within 2-3 minutes, so you cannot even finish a complete song before the strings go out of tune. And yes for the naysayers who say "well they're new strings you need to let them stretch" I have given this guitar an entire week before judging this issue. And I own 8 other guitars and have been playing for the last 30 years. And adjusting the torque on the tuning keys does nothing. 2) The very same classical nylon frame is sold by Amazon with STEEL strings, which will crack the bridge and/or neck if properly tuned, as steel strings exert much more tension than nylon strings. This is true for even GOOD classical guitars; you are never supposed to put steel strings on them. Imagine towing a mobile home with a Toyota Prius. There's an excellent Youtube review by Alamo Music Center (search "alamo guitar cheapest") where it keeps cracking as they try to tune it; they toss it into the dumpster at the end. 2) Even with nylon strings, correct intonation is not possible (eg., open string and and the 12th fret harmonics should match, they don't). 3) The pack of extra strings are BRAIDED together. This shows an identity crisis with the product - a beginner guitarist would have trouble figuring out which string is which, but no experienced guitarist would be caught dead with this guitar. 4) The included case is so thin it offers zero protection and can only be meant as a trash bag for this trash guitar. 5) If it's aimed demographic are adults who want to gift the beloved children in their lives the gift of music, this will teach children to hate music as there is zero reward or satisfaction in any kind of playing this instrument 6) The only positive side of this product will be to reinforce the importance of established brands; I returned this guitar after a week of suffering and ordered a Yamaha CGS103a ... show more
