  • Nice simple press and reasonable price as well
Style: V3.0 MAX 2 IN 1
Nice and simple. Different packages are available for this unit and there is also one with a touch screen. The one I received has the buttons on the display side. The unit works well and we only turn it on and run the cups as we need. Shut it off when not in use should make the heaters last longer. Simple to setup and use. The pressure adjustment is a bit fiddly and just use a ruler to make sure both sides are even. It does not need to be real tight but just firm for the sublimation. Changing heaters is also a bit fiddly. Loosen all the thumb bolts and then remove them all You may have to slightly open or closed to get the heater ears to lay flat on the mounting bars in the machine. Putting it in is the same. Start all the thumb bolts and then snug them up, It does not need to be very tight. It is just keeping the heater from escaping the machine. ... show more

  • This PYD Life tumbler heat press is worth every penny!
Style: V3.0 MAX 2 IN 1
I love my tumbler heat press! I shopped around for a month watching every review I could find on Amazon and YouTube and settled on PYD Life. There are many reasons why this press is the best, here's two important ones for me: one, the size fit within my allowed space, and two, because PYD Life offers so many different sublimation tumbler blanks at some of the best prices I was able to find. Therefore, they probably know exactly what we crafters need in accessories for this heat press. Which listed on this press alone came to 13. As you can see from my pictures this heat press is doing both 20 and 40 oz tumblers flawlessly. It comes with two cuffs one for 20-30 oz and one for 40 oz. I had to mark both of mine so I would know which was which. Here's my only little Con: the information sheet included has no discerning description or pictures of which size cuff does what. Right out of the box these cuff's look the same but they do have number plates or stickers on the sides and you can match them up from there. My pictures of the heat press itself above represents my limited space allowance for working and storing this press. The other pictures represent the actual cuff sticker and number and the accessories list. I have used both the 20 and 40 oz cuffs many times and have never had a issue with either one. The Pros: The construction is top quality, because this baby is a little on the heavy side. All the cords felt like they were secured tightly to each cuff with heavy-duty material that wrapped around the pin cords. Perfect length pin cords by not having too much to get in the way of my working space. The timer and temperature settings are installed inside the front of the press so there is no attached box like many other units had, this allows for easy storage and set up. The timer actually starts counting down as soon as you lock the handle in place and when it's reached the set time it beeps continually until opened. Easy set for heat temperatures or timer. Up or down arrows < > for settings. You can set it for either Fahrenheit or Celsius (I have mine set at 358° degrees for 60 seconds and all my tumblers have come out flawlessly every time). The cuffs slide into place and come with 8 screws to tighten in the top of the housing, and 4 spares along with some extra brackets (I havent taken the time to investigate further on so I honestly don't know what these are used for). Setup is very easy slide in the cuff, screw it in place, slide in a tumbler adjust the pressure with the two black larger screws in the back of the unit. Attach the pin connector cord and tighten it in place. Attach the electrical cord and plug into an outlet, set temperature/time and you're done. I didn't actually time the heat up, but it only took maybe 3-5 minutes to get to my set heat of 358°. Slide the tumbler in and press, when the timer beeps use heat protective gloves and turn the tumbler 180° and press again for complete consistent heat press coverage all around the tumbler. Tumblers with handles will need additional care, first take the handle off before pressing unless you have metal handles. There are many methods for pressing tumblers with handles, I suggest watching a few videos on how to do so before you proceed. I like to use the small handle attachment bracket in lining up my tumbler for a very close press on both sides of these handle brackets. I use my heat gun to the areas I can't place into the heat press for a seamless wrap under the handle. I've played around with the bottoms on my last few tumblers and found a way to press this area with the heat press using the 20 oz cuff however, my method would not be recommended by the manufacturer, but they do have cuffs that fit this heat press for the tapered bottoms of the 40 oz tumblers if this will be a necessity. Be sure you allow the heat press to cool down to the touch before changing the cuff out. Overall, I highly recommend the PYD Life tumbler heat press for all mugs, cans, and tumblers. The setup and use of this heat press could not be any easier, it really only takes minutes to have a perfectly pressed tumbler. I have not had to change my initial setup temperature or time. I use the same settings on all cups and I'm getting great results. Having a color option for this press was a really nice surprise. Good to know manufacturers are listening to the desires of crafters. Maybe color is not so important to some but to other crafters it's the attention to details that we love. Shipping was amazing because it came in during the most wonderfully crazy shipping times of the year... December. It came with the rest of my normal scheduled deliveries and packed perfectly in a thicker heavy-duty shipping box. No scuffs or bang-ups on the outside of the box. Delivered on time and right on schedule. ... show more

  • Very pleased with purchase
Style: V3.0
Use this product for sublimation on tumblers and mugs. Tumblers have been perfect, still perfectly the mugs. Wish there were a little more instructions with it, instruction manual very small and I did several you tube videos where instructors were using this brand. Tumblers are costly to make mistakes on. I’m amazed at how quickly the tumbler press heats up, makes my heat press really seem old! I’m very happy with the quality and my purchase and my finished tumblers have been fantastic. ... show more

  • Excellent & Easy to Use
Style: V3.0
I bought this for my wife to do 20oz tumblers since her press didn't do tumblers this size. For not having any expirence making them a quick tutorial on-line and we knocked out several impressive tumblers to be given as gifts. There was a lot of different "suggestions" on temp/time so we went with 50secs (x2) then 25secs (x2) to make sure the heat was evenly distributed. That worked out fantastic! We are extremely satisfied with this product and are looking forward to many more uses! ... show more

  • Terrible
Style: V3.0
I bought this thinking it would be a good skinny tumbler press. It smells when heating up and heats unevenly. I reached out and PYD offered to send me a new press. The second one did the same thing. Uneven heating caused my mugs not to come out. They said they recommend me using a smaller mug element and offers to send it to me. I told them it says in should be able to do two mugs at a time and I didn’t want a smaller mug press. I can’t return it now because it is out of the return window due to them going back and forth with me. So I am just out the money. Won’t by PYD again ... show more

  • Wicked nasty smell is normal, don't trust the press time/temp on vendor boxes
Style: V3.0
UPDATE: After writing my review, I felt like something just wasn't right so I did more research into pressing mugs in this press. It does, however, still smell pretty awful. That's apparently due to the material the heater is made from. The smell did seem to lessen over time, but it is still fragrant after doing about 30 mugs. It turns out that the instructions with my mug blanks and the limited info in the PYD Life booklet were WAY off in terms of time and temp for ceramics. I was most successful with 385F/300 seconds (5 minutes) and you MUST press 2 mugs at once with the open ends facing each other for even pressure and heat distribution. Even if you only have one to press, stick a second blank in for best results. I found that I had to tape the top edge of the mugs to keep the design from bleeding over the edge into the inside of the mugs. I did not pull the tape very tight, just enough to protect the edge. I did not tape the bottoms. The edges of my mugs were not getting enough heat to press fully, so I shortened my design by .25" to move each edge .125" further back from the handle. This is something you will have to test with your blanks since the diameter of your mug is what will affect this result. --- I wanted to love this press because I usually equate quality with PYDLife, but this was a fail. I have never smelled something so horrible when the product is heating up. It filled my house with a stench my son described as "burnt fish" (not the usual sublimation smell). Half the press is about 30-40 colder on one end, I wrecked 4 mugs before going back to my tried and true Cricut. The directions are very brief and not terribly helpful. ... show more
