I have slept on this pillow for almost a week now and I like it more and more with every use. I am notoriously picky and choosy when it comes to pillows, and shoes, but right now we are talking about this pillow. : ) I must have a pillow with neck support that isn't too hard, nor too soft. I also have a problem with headaches if my sleeping pillow isn't the right firmness. I was sleeping with the standard, contoured, memory foam pillow, which I love, but I think I love this pillow more. I love the shape of this pillow as well as the two different fabric choices, on the cover of the pillow, with one being for cooling, and the other functioning as a more warm fabric. I sleep on the cooling side of the fabric, and it is cooler than my other pillow. I also want to mention that I am a side sleeper, and this pillow is very comfortable when I am sleeping on my side, but I have noticed that it isn't as comfortable while lying on it on my back. My old contoured pillow is more comfortable than this one when lying on my back, this one is more comfortable when lying on my side. As far as the lavender smell, I could do without it, but it isn't horrible either. I have noticed that it is dissipating with use. I also would have liked to have washing instructions included in the packaging, because this pillow comes with no instructions whatsoever. In conclusion, memory foam pillows aren't for everyone, as I noticed other reviews stating that the pillow isn't fluffy enough. I have to say, to each their own, but if you have difficulty finding a pillow that has the proper neck support, and firmness, without causing headaches, give this a try.

PRODUCT/THOUGHTS: When I got this pillow, for some reason I didn’t notice that it was scented. It wasn’t until I got it out of the box that I Realized and went back to look at the Description. Now, it’s supposed to be a Lavender scent… I’ll be honest, This doesn’t smell like lavender to me though. It smells more like a type of laundry detergent, which is the best way I can describe it. It’s not super horrible, but it’s not my kind of preferred scent. I actually wouldn’t mind lavender if it actually smelled like it. There was no paperwork included with this pillow that I could find. So I actually don’t know the washing instructions. I can gather what it is from experience doing similar pillow covers, but it would still have been nice to have washing and care instructions The cover appears to be 2 sided. One side is the “Cooling” side and the other side is the normal. At least that’s what I gather from how it feels The pillow will come rolled up in a box and it’s easy to let it expand. All you have to do is take it out of the plastic and it’ll do its thing. I’ll have to see if I can get used to the scent of this thing. Comfort-wise it’s not too shabby. I would say it’s on par with pretty much any memory foam pillow I have used that is about this size. I do feel that it’s more breathable than others I’ve tried though and the real test will be during the hotter months but for now, I am enjoying what it can do. Just not the smell.

This is a good memory foam pillow with a pleasant lavender scent and a cover giving the pillow a warm side and a cool side. This pillow arrived tightly packed in plastic and expanded immediately when the plastic was removed. I took the cover off to wash it and initially the lavender scent was very strong. Still pleasant, but strong enough to give me pause. After the initial wash, the pillow now has a relaxed, reasonable lavender scent and it has been staying steady at the same level. With the cover off, the purple pillow is sewn into a light mesh liner. The purple pillow is not directly exposed like in the pictures unless you want to cut it out of the liner. I saw no reason to do that and put it back into its cover once I'd washed it. The pillow is not too thick, a good thickness for side sleeping and works great for me on my side keeping my head at a comfortable level. I also like to sleep on my back. With the pillow under my head, it is more comfortable than most pillows and pleasant enough. On my back, I actually like to sleep with my head flat on a firm mattress with the pillow over my head. I've been told that is weird to some people, but that is how I like it. With the pillow on my face, it stays firm and holds its shape and sits on my head. It is not heavy and the lavender scent is stronger like that which I like. When it is dark, that works fine but I do prefer to have a pillow shape itself to my upper face and block out light completely. You may have deduced that I do not get up at dawn. Even though this isn't the perfect face hugging pillow, I do like how the cover has a definite cool and warm side. I'm often a hot sleeper so having the cool side has been great on those nights. The weather has been crazy this week so I've also experienced some cold nights where the warm side was better. It is nice to have that choice. When I'm having a particularly hot night, the cool side is great and I have to begrudgingly say that having the pillow sitting up higher on my face helps as well. Whether I'm sleeping on my back or side, putting the pillow under my head or over it, and flipping the sides depending on if I'm feeling hot or cold at the moment, I'm always enjoying the lavender scent and it has been a good pillow helping me get comfortable in an array of positions.

Be prepared for a strong lavender smell after you unwrap this pillow. I think the smell is nice, and it does dissipate a bit over time. I would give it a couple days before sleeping on the pillow. As for comfort, the pillow is both soft and supportive. I've slept on a real "Purple" pillow before in a Mattress Firm store and this does not have the same lattice support system. I would call this a lavender scented memory foam pillow dyed purple. The pillow depth is narrower than I would like, so it's not well suited to be the only pillow for a back or side sleeper. I found this pillow very comfortable for stomach sleeping, and good as a second pillow for back or side sleeping, or as a sofa/couch bolster.
