I have tried everything short of running over it to get it to close. i have tried the 0000 code, reset the code to my preference everything. it will not close. Sturdiness and durability are 4 stars because unit seems to be well made. Time will tell. Combination can set set by user. Ships with 0000 combo that means it should open up right away, but the seal sticks so the first time it opens very hard. To set your combo, move lever, then move combo wheels to your combo, then move lever back. But it is very easy for the lever to get moved before your desired combo is set. If to moves and you then move the combo wheels then you have set the wrong combo and scrambled the wheels. Then you can't even close the door and the unit is worthless. So BE CAREFUL not to jar the lever in the process. The instructions say to take a pic with your smart phone of the combo when done. Great idea (not). We all know that cell phone don't get lost or stolen or hacked. Try pen, paper, and a top secret location. ... show more

    • Great! But a little heavy and bulky for portable use.
I Love this portable safe. It is nicely made. I like the removable cord to attach to things. I think it will work great at the beach or at track meets to luck up a gym bag and it will be great in a dorm. So many uses. I just wish it was a little lighter and a little less bulky.

I wasn't able to open it. I tried every combination suggested, I realized it must have been used when purchased so I had to return for a refund. No I did not replace it, because sending used items is bad business. Don't waste your money.
