I have worn this coat several times now in the PNW and really like it. The only changes I would make would be to remove the buttons and have velcro instead, also the fur collar sheds so I simply removed it. The coat is warm, light weight and feels great on.

2022 Christmas gift. Saw a lot of reviews, photos & videos. After lots of comparisons I decided this Puremsx parka was what I needed for sub zero Michigan winters. Despite the delivery box being bashed in by UPS, the coat was in perfect condition. Nice bag and very few wrinkles. Unlike my massive sheepskin, leather and camel overcoats, this jacket feels light and allows comfortable arm movement. Last week it was below zero in Ann Arbor, Michigan, the day the parka came it was 51 degrees, so I'll have to wait awhile to put it to the test. The faux fur around the hood is soft and comfy, the hood is extremely large but adjustable in the back. Puremsx claims the parka is warm down to 20 below. We'll see. The zipper is well made, sturdy, but unlike other jackets, this one doesn't have two way zip. Again it's extremely comfortable, good arm movement. I also have Mountain Hardwear, Western Mountaineering, Eddie Bauer and several Arc'teryx jackets that have served me well. Looking forward to the next blizzard and using the snow blower as a true northern test. Love the beige color. I'm 5 11, 170 lbs, and I took the advice of other reviewers and got an extra large. Perfect fit. My wife is getting a Canada Goose, so we will have to compare notes on quality, breathability and warmth. I've been scouring jackets/coats for myself for a while. I've bought many over the years and never felt in love with my jacket/coat until I found this one. I am 5/11 and weigh 130lbs., so I'm tall(ish) and slender and this jacket/coat fits me perfect. Now, it does fit a little long to my mid thigh area but it's the length I was looking for. It's comfortable and warm. The pockets are laced with a warm fabric. The fit of the jacket/coat is nice and snug. The arms are nice and snug (keeping in mind I'm a lean guy). I never thought I'd find a jacket that fits this perfect (for me). I did buy an extra small (XS) because I was unsure of the sizes just by visually seeing them from the pictures shown. I initially thought I'd buy a size small (S) but I think if you were to buy one buy one that's one size smaller. I feel like the small (S) would have been too big for me. The zippers are easy. The inside pocket is nice. I will say this about the hood tho, it is a bit oversized. It envelopes your head meaning the front of the hood, when worn, comes a little too far forward and may cover your eyes. But I hardly ever wear the hood of my jackets/coats so it doesn't bother me but may bother those that do wear the hood part. Overall I give this jacket FIVE stars! ... show more

I have lived in Montana for over a year now and this coat has stood up to even -30 degree winter, warming everything it covers. And the fake fur edge does well to hold onto fragrances I wear, making it always smell wonderful. An easy recommendation.

Really nice quality. The zipper is a little stiff, but I think it will get easier after it's been used. The fur piece for the hood is truly gigantic & kind of dumb looking, but it detaches, thankfully. This coat is long enough to cover your butt & upper thighs which is exactly what I wanted. I wore this in Minnesota when the temperature was -10 & windy as heck. It did a great job at keeping me warm! Keep in mind, it's kind of bulky to drive in, but definitely will not complain about being cold. Would definitely buy again. ... show more

I live in Minnesota and wanted to give this jacket the test of time before writing a review. I will compare this jacket to Eddie Bauer or North Face in quality, warmth, comfort and style. The oversized hood is just what it's supposed to be. When up over a hat it it gives you a "Nanook of the North" wind breaking tunnel. There's a tab on the back that can be fastened to make it like a normal sized hood. I was just out in 17 below winds and stayed nice and warm. The zipper is 3/4 which makes for roomy for sitting or bending, but the buttons fasten to the bottom. The buttons fasten with loops, not thread, so they'll stay on forever. I did size up one because I like room and it's perfect. I got the red which is vibrant with contrasting black buttons. There is one "caution". This jacket should not be worn shopping.
