I was going to return these then read a review who fixed my issue. The directions were not clear, to get to the on button you have to remove the top and take off the “bulb” and the button is in there! *Edited Review* After going back and reading the other reviews, I realized there is a pull tab that is not obvious. You have to take the light apart a little. Once done they have worked great. Sooo I was really hoping I’d be one of the few who got a good product but that is not what’s happened. They pretty much are lawn ornaments because they have never even illuminated. Very disappointed. They look nice otherwise. I’d return if I would have kept the box. Although I’m sure Amazon would still take them back. ... show more

    • Looks great BUT no light!
I put all eight pieces together and they looked real nice lining the pathway to the front door. I was disappointed after nightfall as not a single light worked. They are in full sun. The second day it was raining and very dark out so I thought that I would just give them a couple more days to charge the batteries because I really liked how they looked installed around the sidewalk. I am disappointed to say that not a single light shines after dark. I want to be fair so I will wait a couple more days before returning the lights to Amazon. Update: I did not flip the on switch! It is inside the bulb cover, which is inside the lantern cover! The lights work as they should once the switch is turned on! Ok, so I admit that I need to wear my glasses! ... show more

Ok so where to begin, I opened the box where the box of the lights came in and it looked like a package when you return it (like overtaped and wonky like) but I have also received good good products like this so I was gonna give it the benefit of the doubt (im not an animal, you know?) Anyways I open it and the pieces of the 2 hooks where the lamps hang are right on top and the cap on one is missing... and is rusted inside... hmm... well I didnt panic I figure it could've popped inside the box no big deal right?, well as I started pulling the rest of the assembling pieces I couldn't help but notice that the pieces look scratched and bent, not abused but definitely used, and one of the assembly poles to make it stand the thread is pushed in, I hope ppl can zoom in the pics and see the scratches and just the wear on the poles, also cap was nowhere to be seen... anyways im sending it back and getting it exchanged, will update when they show up again. ... show more

So I've had these over a year now, I think I changed the batteries once in that time. So the solar power has been holding up pretty well. They aren't super bright but they are enough for us. They add a little something to my driveway which is all I wanted. My negative is one of the lantern poles arrived partially broken, so it has this weird curve right in the middle which is very noticeable and makes the whole lantern tilt . It's a Hassel to return so I've just lived with it but it bothers me every time I go out and see them. 😆 ... show more

Adorable and functional! It was tricky at first with no clear instructions, but figured out in the end. Some reviewers mentioned about malfunctioning but please note that you must turn the switch to ON first. The switch is located inside the light bulb cap. You have to twist it to open and you will see a tiny on/off switch. Also, one of mine had the AA battery placed the wrong way! I had to switch plus/negative sides and the light turned on. Wish the instruction was more clear as to where these things are hiding. Otherwise, this $16 fits my budget and I am happy with my lanterns! ... show more

Purchased these in April. Opened them to to use in my flower boxes in Late May after planting etc. they were always very dim, but they were cute for the price. Now after just 2 months they turn on for an hour and die. Spend a few more dollars and get a better product. Otherwise you’ll spend more replacing them every few months.
