I got this Puma Fluid backpack originally thinking it would make a great backpack for my daughter when she goes back to school next year. It is, however, a little bit big on her, but she'll have room to grow into it. She's 10 and 5' 100 lbs for reference. We just came back from vacation where we used this backpack to pack some of her stuff. Our trip was about 10 days and we packed this bag pretty full and it handled that part of it fine. The fairly durable part of my comment refers to losing one of the zipper pulls during this trip, it popped off and we can't find it. During the trip, the backpack was basically packed, tossed in the back of the car, then brought into our cottage and unpacked where it sat for the week with the exception of a day trip to the beach where we packed some towels and extra shoes in it. It was then packed back up and brought back home. It wasn't like we were hiking with it or roughly using it. I'm not sure how long the rest of the zipper pulls will hold up for, but I'll probably just use a keychain or one of her other trinkets to use as a zipper pull. It is by no means the end of the world. The stitching and the straps all held up fine so far. I was actually impressed with the stitching on the shoulder straps as even though we really stuffed it full, that part handled the weight without any visible signs that the stitching would let go. This is usually where I see the cheap backpacks fail. The back is padded and has some breathable backing to it, but it still got hot on my back while we were walking from the car to the beach as we parked a couple miles away. I really don't see this as huge downside because she'll mostly be using it for school. If you were hiking with this all day, it probably isn't going to be the most comfortable.

This is a great backpack. My son already had this one but after 2 years of using it we wanted an fresh one. He loves it. Very durable and carries a lot. Comfortable straps!

This Puma backpack is excellent for someone who needs to carry a laptop or tablet with them regularly. There's a padded sleeve for just this purpose with room in front of the sleeve for files, papers, or notebooks to fit while still staying flat and not getting wrinkled. There is an additional pocket for storage in one of the zippered compartments of the bag which will help hold a small amount of pens, pencils, smaller pads of paper, or anything else small that you might need to carry. There are two mesh water bottle pockets, which is great if you're the kind of person who might want to double pack some beverages for those longer days. If you do use this pack to travel, note that it does NOT have a strap on the back to attach it to a rolling carry-on suitcase. There are also various spots on the front of the bag that you can use to attach keychains, hand sanitizers, or carabiners that would be able to help attach various things to your backpack. From an aesthetic point of view, the colored portion of the bag has a cool textured pattern and the contrast of the beige and black looks pretty sharp. The Puma logo is subtly placed and since it is the same color as the coordinating color of the bag (black), it works with the overall style of the bag. It's also not a massive pack, which means it's a decent bag for students and business travelers alike. The interior of the compartments is a wipeable material with the puma logo watermarked throughout, which is helpful if you have something explode (lip balm, snack, or something of the like). The back of the pack itself has two sides that are offset from the rest of the bag and padded, perhaps providing a bit of airflow down the middle of a carrier's back where we humans are most likely to perspire. When you combine the understated aesthetics and the storage flexibility and usage of the bag itself with Puma's reputation for quality - this is a backpack that should last for a while and withstand the rigors of a student dropping it on the ground or a business traveler shoving under seats and in overhead bins. I definitely recommend this backpack if you're looking for something that would be good for an older student (middle, high school, or college) or someone who travels for business with a laptop or tablet. It would be OK for an elementary school student who doesn't have as much to carry around as some other students in upper grades. This pack is possibly not the right style for someone looking for a day pack for recreational day trips (hiking, amusement parks, etc.).

I am really liking this backpack. It's simple, not a whole bunch of bells & whistles, but has ample storage & just the right amount of compartments to keep my things organized & easily accessible. I carry a super thick binder around for work, in addition to my laptop, and countless other notebooks, files, etc. & I always have plenty of room in the main compartment to fit everything/sort through it & grab what I need. The front zipper is good for my "quick grab" items like keys, badges, sunglasses. I usually can't store all those things together, but the pocket is much deeper than typical (I have it pictured with a water bottle inside for scale). The backpack has a sleek, minimalist design that I enjoy, I'd definitely consider it unisex. It's very comfortable to wear with the padding as well. The texture of it seems to make it resistant to staining & it's very easy to wipe down if needed. Definitely a well made & durable bag.
