  • Pretty good for the price
Style: 10000 Watts - Dual Fuel - Inverter
Pretty good for the price. I have another closed frame inverter, which is "better". It's quieter, comes with a power supply to charge the battery, is A LOT quieter, includes more breakers, has automatic choke, has a digital display with more information, more ports... but it's also twice the weight and twice the cost for the same power output! I bought this guy as a backup, but it's now my primary because it's easier to deal with, and all that other stuff doesn't matter as long as it supplies the power I need during an outage. If I had it to do over again, I would have bought two of these. I have used this one twice for prolonged outages and it works great. EDIT: I live in an area with a lot of dead ash trees that are tacking out power pretty much any time the wind blows. I've had several outages lasting double digits. On propane, this gen takes 2 or 3 pulls to start. I suspect it's because I do not first bleed the propane hose. I always forget, and by the time I remember, I already have the houe tightened, so it's easier to just cycle a few starts to get the gas flowing than to go find my wrench. It's still loud and still a bare bones inverter, but it's pretty darned reliable. I ran it 2 more times since this review was made, for over 12 hours each time, and it never shut off once. ... show more

  • Loud but dutiful.
Style: 10000 Watts - Dual Fuel - Inverter
I’m giving it a full five because it does its job and easy enough to figure out how to use. But this thing is honestly loud as …. Well the neighbors might be mad tbh. But it is really easy to use. Follow instructions to start is a must though.

  • doesn't put out stated power
Style: 10000 Watts - Dual Fuel - Inverter
I needed the generator recently, big storm. The generator starte easily (propane tank) and I ran some small heaters a 2 lamps. everything OK until later, when I tried to run a microwave so I could cook something. I put some water into th generator, set for one minute, and pushed start. WITHIN 2 SECONDS EVERYTHING WENT DOWN, lamps turned off, microwave quit, and I had to restart the generator . I tried again wit just the microwave, everything lugged down and stopped. The cord I was using was 12-2 with ground (3 12ga wire), about 70'long, that I have used for high powered table saws with a vacuum running at the same time, so the conductor was not too light ... show more

  • a little hard to start on propane
Style: 10000 Watts - Dual Fuel - Inverter
Unit is put together nicely but is hard starting on Propane I found half choke is the sweet spot however the bendix spring kick out just as it wants to pop off. I see this as a problem down the road. it does have pull start but good luck with that if the engine is cold. I haven't tried gasoline. I hope it starts better. The display meter has volts, frequency and hours. I would love to have had a watt load meter instead of the frequency but i guess some people will appreciate that feature. also low idle isn't really that low as I would like it and it doesn't power up automatically. you have manually turn off the low idle. some interesting other things, no fuel selector. if you want to use gas you open the petcock if you want propane you close the fuel tank petcock and run the gas out of the bowel before turning on the propane tank. There are no idle set screw to lower the idle. Also there is no voltage selector for 120v and 240v. I think the unit will run both voltages simultaneously. I haven't hooked up the 50 amp or 30 amp service as of yet I assume it will work. it has a three year warranty but I bought the 4 year protection plan as well just in case that started craps out or it won't ever start. ... show more

  • Not as Quiet
Style: 10000 Watts - Dual Fuel - Inverter
well just received this generator and the listed the decimal level was 68 and stated it was loud as having a conversation. Well it's loud I would describe it as loud as a yelling match between two people pretty loud. Thinking some people will say anything just to sell something.
